Tom & Jerry Adventures 3: Pandemonium Personified is a 3D platformer released for the XBOX 360, PS3, Wii, PSP, DS & PC in 2010. It is the third installment in the Tom & Jerry Adventures series.

Development[]

Development on a third Tom & Jerry Adventures title began in 2004, and was set to release in 2006, however due to the developers wanting more time to work on the game, Tom & Jerry Adventures 2: Battle was released instead. The developers included a small teaser of what was to be in the third installment of the series once the player achieved 200% completion in the game.

Tom & Jerry Adventures 3 was officially shown off at E3 2010, where the final title was revealed. When asked why it was called "Pandemonium Personified", the director said that they'd have to wait until the game came out to see why.

The game would be released that September for all major platforms at the time.

Plot Synopsis[]

Much like the last installment, Tom & Jerry Adventures 3 begins with the cat and mouse duo chasing each other before the mayor of Coasta City summons them to investigate a strange signal coming from somewhere within the city. Upon finding the signal, Tom & Jerry are soon thrust into an adventure to save the world once more and rescue Mitsuru Kirijo and her fellow Persona Users.

Gameplay[]

Tom & Jerry Adventures 3 is a 3D action adventure platformer with light puzzle elements like the previous games. However, the combat has been given a much greater focus as Tom & Jerry now find themselves having to occasionally fight their way through enemies. By partaking in enemy battles and defeating them, Tom & Jerry will earn EXP and level up, allowing them access to more moves along their adventure. Alongside combat, the duo now have four vehicles they end up utilizing along the way.

  • Tennis Tank: Fire a barrage of tennis balls at any enemy that stands in your way, perfect for clearing out hordes of them.
  • Attack Chopper: Fly through the skies and blast away enemies using the double machine guns attached to the chopper.
  • Shadow Mech: A vehicle exclusive to the final levels, Tom & Jerry must utilize it in order to stop the villain and save the day.

Alongside the vehicles, Tom & Jerry also have access to a wristwatch that allows them to access four elemental powers to defeat enemies and solve puzzles.

  • Agi Form: Allows Tom & Jerry to utilize fire attacks to blast away enemies, light up dark places and burn away pieces of the environment.

Reception[]

Tom & Jerry Adventures 3: Pandemonium Personified was met with high praise from critics and fans alike. Being hailed as the best platformer of 2010, the game received acclaim for it's fantastic gameplay, soundtrack, story, voice acting, production values and side content, but was given flak for feeling a bit too bloated with all of the side content.

Tom & Jerry Adventures 3 would go on to be one of the best selling games of the seventh console generations and would be made backwards compatible for Wii U, 3DS, XBOX One and PS Vita.

Legacy[]

When asked about Tom & Jerry Adventures 4, the director said that the players would have to wait and see. In 2018, alongside the re-release of Adventures 2 Battle on the Nintendo Switch, another game: Tom & Jerry Adventures Karting would be released a month later, having been worked on since 2014. Should the player obtain 200% in Karting, the player would be rewarded with a teaser for the future of the series.
