The Aion Defense Initiative (or simply the ADI) are one of the twenty-one core factions in Gaiaterra: Elysea's Conflict. This faction relies on heavy armour, mechanized walkers, hover technology and superior firepower over speed and mobility (a trend that would continue in future conflicts).
Description
The Aion Defense Initiative, or ADI, has come a long way from it origins. But to truly understand it's state, one has to turn back the clock.
In the aftermath of the Great Voshkod-Aquilan War of 1953-1958 V.C., a protracted conflict with the Aquilans, Hawkes, Andorans and the Zemurians defeated the Socialist Union of Voshkod, as well as their allies, the Ascalian Monarchy and the Lustrians, a multinational task force (Special Ops 9) was established by the Zemurians and their allies, whose are also involved in the same war, the Elyos, Miqo'te, Gnomes and the High Elves of Arborea as a covert peacekeeping unit that answered to the Zemurian nations. Although much of the activities (including it's formation) remain classified, it's known that it was active in the 1970s and 1980s V.Cs. and may have played a part in the later part of Aquilan-Lizardmen conflict, Operation Desert Rage and the 1st Encantadia War. By the early 1990s V.C., it was discreetly collaborating with Aquila's Task Force Eve, Andora's Chimera Venom Command and various agencies in pursuing the terrorists, millitias, some of which would be tied to an unknown benefactor (later to be the Destroyers of Balthazar).
What transpired in 1995 V.C., a mysterious organization calling itself the Brotherhoood of Asmodia revealed to the public. Led by its even more enigmatic yet charismatic leader, a Fodlan man known as Kane, this stateless movement that responsible for the take over of Fodlan aggressively began expanding it's influence into war-developing nations and empires - from Arankona to even parts of post Cold War nations - through a mix of propaganda, subterfuge, terrorist attacks and outright military coups. Realizing the severity of the threat, the governments of Zemuria, Elyos, Gnomes of Gnomeregan, the Miqo'tes and the High Elves of Arborea made a fateful decision. On 7th month of 1995 V.C., in accordance with the Aion Defense Act, what had been Special Ops 9 was greatly expanded, transformed and officially established as ADI. An military peacekeeping force unprecedented for its time, it was tasked with preserving world order of the Aion continent by combating global terrorism, opposing corrupted nations and later the Destroyers of Balthazar after they inducted into the Guardians of the Tacitus. This mandate would remain a constent.

Base Plugins and Modules
Almost every ADI building can be upgraded by adding modules to its slots, with a building having an average of four slots, giving their buildings flexibility. And by adding the same module on a structure (example: four Training Camps on an Engineering Facility) will speed up production time.
Firestorm Defense System
Combat Doctrine
Upon reaching Tier II the commander can choose one of three doctrines that will passively buff their forces, provide branch-dependent upgrades, and unlocks a powerful upgrade module. But once chosen it can't be changed, but can be upgraded three times.
Bombardment: Increase damage and rate of fire by 10% and unlocks Firestorm Battery.
Seek And Destroy: Increase speed and range by 10% and unlocks Advance Radar.
Hold The Line: Increase armor and health by 10% and unlocks Nanoshield Generator.

- ADI is based on the Global Defense Initiative (GDI) from Command & Conquer Tiberium sub-series and their arsenal is the mixed of GDI arsenal from Tiberian Dawn (including Dawn of the Tiberium Age and Renegade), Tiberian Sun, Tiberium Wars (including Kane's Wrath and Tiberium Essence) and Twisted Insurrection.
- The sub-factions of the ADI are based on what their arsenal (mainly vehicles and some of the infantry) of the GDI being used in Command & Conquer Tiberium sub-series.
- Zemurian Raiders: Tiberian Dawn era GDI (including Dawn of the Tiberium Age, Renegade and Twisted Dawn mini campaign of Twisted Insurrection).
- Steel Talons: Tiberian Sun era GDI (including it's namesake sub-faction from Kane's Wrath)
- ZOCOM: Tiberium Wars era GDI (including Tiberium Essence and it's namesake sub-faction from Kane's Wrath)
- Arborean Angels: Twisted Insurrection and Tiberian Twilight era GDI and Eagle sub-faction in the Combined Arms mod for OpenRA
