The Ghosts of Fukushima (Japanese: 福島の幽霊) is a futuristically planned open-world adventure video game that will be developed and published by Psoaic. It is a tribute dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami, and even the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster as its main focus.
Gameplay[]
The gameplay of this adventure game seems to be based on its influences: Ghostwire: Tokyo, Detective Pikachu, Yakuza, Grand Theft Auto and Lego Dimensions. The player controls Fukuko Toyohama, a famously wise but shy and timid teenage girl who became an explorer for exploring around the country for her school's history projects like her father and solving mysteries, to navigate the radiationally affected and abandoned areas within the Fukushima prefecture, and solve the historically mysterious puzzles together with her pet Shiba Inu dog named Inori ever since the 2011 Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster came out by the Tohoku earthquake and tsunami. In her adventures, her goals are to explore the ghost town of the Fukushima prefecture, populated by the ghosts who originally lived their residences, and investigate anything caused by an incident. With her dosimeter, she can measure the amount of the nuclear radiation per location. In any moment, you can see the ghastly people, representing the population of the former residents of abandoned areas in the Fukushima prefecture.
Story[]
Following the disastrous event of the 2011 Fukushima Daiichi nuclear incident, which is severely caused by the 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami, the game takes place in the radiation-affected and abandoned areas of the Fukushima prefecture in the year 2026. Fukuko and her pet dog Inori went there to wander around the prefecture, and study the severe cases of the nuclear disaster that recently happened years ago, and the prefectural abandonment along with the fellow explorer, Wilbert Hawkins.

Born in Manhattan, New York, USA, Wilbert Hawkins is an American explorer/traveler and the younger brother of Billmore Hawkins, a soldier who appeared as one of the main characters of the Space Monsters series. He went there to the Fukushima prefecture to investigate the recent 2011 nuclear incident. In addition, he's one of the central characters in the game alongside Fukuko Toyohama.
