Shin Mugen 2: Infinite Worlds Crisis (風無限2無限の世界の危機, Shin mugen 2 Mugen no sekai no kiki) is a crossover open world action-adventure role-playing video game co-developed Compile Heart, Idea Factory, Nippon Ichi Software, Gust Corporation, Banpresto, Type-Moon, Tamsoft, Arc System Works, and Atlus.

It was released on August 3, 2024 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and Microsoft Windows, the game serves as a crossover between the 2 crossover games, Shin Mugen and Project X Zone 3: War of Infinite Worlds.

A sequel called Chou Super Robot Wars U was released worldwide for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and Microsoft Windows.

Gameplay

Just like the Ultimate Edition of Project X Zone 3, the gameplay has a more traditional hack-and-slash/beat-em-up third-person shooter orientation with RPG elements adapted straight from the Project X Zone 3: War of Infinite Worlds and 2.5D graphics incorporated into the environments, characters and animations in the same vein as Dragon Ball FighterZ.

However, some elements from the Project X Zone 3: War of Infinite Worlds version are retained, such as the use of Pair and Solo Units, Mirage Cancel, Cross Fusion Multi-Attacks, open-world multiverse-exploring and quest unlocks.

The game also introduces Ability Cards that modifies or upgrades moves, buffs and stats of units, as well as a loot crate system that contains Ability Cards, weapons, items, etc. that are given at random and offered after completing quests or others.

Summary

3 months after the events of Shin Mugen, Fegelein notices a mysterious massive powerful evil force is sweeping across the corners of the Multiverse without any warning.

Fegelein used a crossgate and met Adam Pines, who was reported about the ongoing crisis and told a group of soldiers to recruit various heroes from all across the Multiverse, saying that “it's time.”

By a strange coincidence, two heroes, Takeshi and Yurina, get caught up in the Infinite Worlds crisis.

Playable Characters

Pair Units

The pair units are controlled by the player by means of travel and combat. The player uses a pair unit to travel to different locations, collect items and weapons, partake on missions and quests and fight on battles. When the pair unit reaches enough experience points, the two characters in that pair unit are leveled up simultaneously.

• Like Project X Zone 3: War of Infinite Worlds, the game's title, characters and story are inspired by the 1985 DC event comic Crisis on Infinite Earths.
• Unlike Project X Zone 3:
  • The story of Shin Mugen 2 is considered by many to be the "lighthearted and comedy" in the Namco Cross series.
  • Every single Super Sentai characters names and unmorphed sprites are not altered into their Power Rangers counterparts in the North American and European release of the game due to the fact that a Sentai character (Kiramei Red) fight against a Power Rangers character (Zeltrax) as shown in the previous game.
  • The events of this game didn't linked with the Cross Crisis Series.
  • Doesn't feature multiple endings on it, allowing it to succeed to it's sequel.
• To avoid controversies like Project X Zone 3, there is no Feminist Reaction (such as the portrayal of female characters in the game and their fanservice and alleged oversexualization) and Religious Portrayal, as the game have a Teen rating on it.
• Since the characters from Cinemassacre, Channel Awesome, GTA, and Call of Duty retain their personalities, however it seems that all them doesn't swear or tried a middle finger like Angry Video Game Nerd, Nostalgia Critic, and Franklin Clinton for example. This was done to keep the game rating "B" and "Teen" since Christian Elumbaring was not like Sam Imbecile, it could been reason why Christian Elumbaring want to do this.
