Pokémon EmberGold and Pokémon CrystalSilver are remakes of Pokémon Gold and Pokémon Silver games.
Note[]
- The art style of the characters in this remake are the same as the Crystal Version.
- These versions include regional forms of the Johto Pokemon:
- Meganium: Grass/Ground (or Dark if Silver/Rival has this starter Pokémon)
- Typhlosion: Fire/Normal (or Dark if Silver/Rival has this starter Pokémon)
- Feraligator: Water/Dragon (or Dark if Silver/Rival has this starter Pokémon)
- Ho-oh: Fire/Ghost
- Lugia: Water/Dragon
- Celebi: Dark/Fairy
- Whichever starter Pokémon the player chooses, Ethan/Kris can automatically choose the starter Pokémon that is weak to the player's starter Pokémon.
- Lisia is now one of the Elite Four for the Johto region. Replacing Bruno. Lisia uses Fairy type Pokémon.
- Jaine is now one of the Elite Four for the Johto region. Replacing Kuga.
- Depending on which version you're playing, the other trainer (Ethan/Kris) would catch one of the legendary Pokémon from the other version (Lugia for EmberGold or Ho-oh for CrystalSilver). But Ethan/Kris would add that legendary Pokémon's data into your pokedex.
- In the Celebi arc in these versions, you can either catch Celebi yourself, or let Silver catch it instead. Eaither way, Celebi's data will be added into your pokedex.
- The Exp. Share is now a key item. And its effects are present from the start of the game.
- The Playable Trainer can date a particular character depending on which Playable Trainer you choose:
- Eathan/Male Trainer: Kris, Whitney, Jasmine, Clair, Jaine, Lisia, or Karen.
- Kris/Female Player: Ethan, Silver, Flakner, Bugsy, Morty, Will, or Lance.
