Persona 5 Arena is a 2.5D fighting game spinoff of Persona 5 that was developed by Arc System Works and produced Atlus. The game is a follow up to Arc System Works' Persona 4 Arena.
Story[]
Taking place after the events of Persona 5 Strikers, Joker returns to Tokyo during the winter to visit his friends. While catching up, Futaba informs everyone that a strange new Phantom Thieves' website has popped up; where anyone can request for someone to die, and whoever's names on the website is found dead a few days later. To make matters worse, later investigating finds that a portal to the Metaverse opens up whenever some dies. This leads to the Phantom Thieves reforming in order to stop these murders and close the Metaverse portals.
Elsewhere, detective Naoto Shirogane has also gotten word of these murders and has come to Tokyo in order to investigate them. She soon discovers that these murders are being committed by a Persona user. Realizing she can't do this on her own, Naoto calls her old friends from Inaba, Chie Satonaka and Kanji Tatsumi. Reunited, the trio sets out to find the culprit of these murders.
Meanwhile, S.E.E.S. gets word of these mysterious Persona related murders as well. That leads to Mitsuri Kirijo and Aigis heading to Tokyo to investigate these murders as well. While there, they run into their old friend Fuuka Yamagishi, who joins the two on their mission. Now, team S.E.E.S. must find the cause of these murders before more people get hurt.
While this is happening, Maya Amano, an investigative journalist, gets word of this mysterious Phantom Thieves website that have apparently been killing people. However, she soon finds the name of the person who's apparently running this site: JOKER. This leads Maya to book the quickest train to Tokyo to put a stop to this mysterious Joker. While there, she finds her old friend Eikichi Mishina, who agrees to help her out. Now, the two must put a stop this mysterious Joker who's been killing people.
Meanwhile, Sae Nijima gets involved in the case after the murders begin to escalate. Her professional curiosity and sense of justice pull her into the investigation. This leads her to meet Margaret, a resident of the Velvet Room. Wanting to help her (and also wanting to figure out who's causing these murders), Margaret unlocks Sae's persona, and the two team up to hunt down the person behind the murders and bring them to justice.
