PROTOTYPE: The Rising is the first game to the .hack//Prequel Project and it is a completely new story which is the first game to be a Stealth, Beat'em Up, and Third Person Shooter game also the first game to be taking place in The Real World rather than in the online game, but the game combining with real-time action and Open-World game.
The story focuses on the professional hackers and genius programmers, Edward Brook who used to be part of allegiance activity for CyberCrimes, which considered a Criminal. Life changes as he been trapped by the contract with CyberConnect Corporation to do their big dirty jobs toward the public, but as the story progresses, he will enter its deeper conspiracies, mystery, and related connection with unexpected truth about their goals.

Setting & The Beginning[]
1969s is the year where it all begins with the creation of the origin Internet known as ARPANET or is known as the Advanced Research Project Agency Network founded and funded by the U.S. Department Defense which used to allow switching to the multiple computers and communicate on a single network. The technology of ARPANET continue to grow and grow with TCP (Transmission Control Protocol) and IP (Internet Protocol) becomes a key to lead its ARPANET to grow even further on the network to network.
Thus at the end of the 20th century, the name of ARPANET has changed into the Internet and become recognizable to every user to accessing the network which able to gain information and new experience that were never seen by other people thanks to the Internet, but it brings the existence of the Cyber Criminal, The Hackers to grow.
At the beginning of the 21st century, thus beginning of the massive CyberCrime with many different cases such as Prank, Invasion Network, Hacking Information, Virus Software Spread, Black Market Online, and more cases become much difficult to handle, with how sharp and skilled at hiding from security bringing the culprit behind the hacking system had become much harder.
Synopsis[]
Edward Brook, the 22-years old who is considered as the professional hackings and programmers who were in charged sentenced for CyberCriminal Heist over 50 Banks in different countries, in additional hacking private security and stole the classified information from different F.B.I, he will be sentenced in the prison for 20 years for his action.
Not until the Higher-Rank Staff of ATLIMIT Corporation, Hibiki Asuno who saving him from Edward's sentences in exchanged to hiring him to become Professional Assassin to exterminate the powerful companies known as Intelligent World Connection Company or so-known as IWC who've been suspected for higher corruption, multiple crimes in secret, and holds classified information which lead to ATLIMIT's downfall, his job's to wipe out their conspiracies and elite to protect ATLIMIT's an entertainment & face popularity.
Thus his life of mission begins in promised for giving his freedom, but someday only found out what life that he hopes sometimes wasn't what he expected.
