The Challenge Series, a game mode last seen in Need for Speed: The Run, is back in this game. The challenge series, despite of having the same system than the one of the 2005 Need for Speed: Most Wanted, is completely redesigned. The objectives, the vehicles and the tracks of each challenge has been changed. Now, we even have stuff that we can unlock by completing challenges harder than the others. The objectives of the challenges are very much more ambitious and harder than in the original game.

Trivia:
- Completion of the whole Challenge Series unlocks the 2022 Pagani Utopia.
- The Challenge 91’s top time and number of checkpoints a reference to a Challenge from Need for Speed: Carbon’s Challenge Series (the one in which you drive Kenji’s Mitsubishi Lancer and you have almost no time between every checkpoint). In this Idea’s challenge, the massive number of checkpoints makes that the player has to pass from a checkpoint to another in 37.5 seconds (if we suppose that all the checkpoints are at the same distance).
- Unlike 2005 Need for Speed: Most Wanted’s Challenge Series, in this one you can’t drive in Bonus Cars, RPD Units or Traffic Cars. To “fix” this, the rides of the Challenges 3-4 and 49-50 are tuned as police units, the one from the Challenges 11-12 as a taxi and the one from the Challenges 69-70 as a GT3 race car (the last one isn’t an exact recreation, but a slightly approximate one).
- There should be a UI bug in the Challenge 94 that would show the incorrect RPM range of the vehicle’s tachometer, but would function at the correct values for the vehicle. This is an intentional reference to a bug that appeared in all the events of the Challenge Series from 2005 Need for Speed: Most Wanted.
- In Challenge 93, the rivals’ cars can have 3 different random tuning. However, there’s a 5% chance that the Audi R8 will be customized like Darius’s one from Need for Speed: Carbon, being this one a fourth secret and improbable tuning.
o Also there’s a 1% chance that the Porsche 918 will be replaced by Pangui’s 2014 Porsche 917 Living Legend.
- Most of Challenges are in Heat Level 4 or 5, and there are only 8 challenges where the Heat Level is 1. I didn’t note this until I finished writing this page, but I didn’t change it cause I tried to do this Challenge Series harder that the original (not so much, but well, I finished liking the difficult).
- The original plan was to re-made the 2005 Most Wanted’s Challenge Series, but this accidentally finished being completely different to it. Even when Carbon’s one is “easier” to recreate, for Need for Speed: New Carbon (my next game idea) I’ll try to do the same thing that with this one.
