EDITOR NOTE: Before reading this page, please do not misunderstand that this is official or prediction because it's not. This page is purposely to fleshing out my ideas about the remake version of the Metal Gear Solid. Although there are many rumors about the remake, but there's still no confirmation about the game announcement, so I decide wanting to relieves my idea first about this. However, I will delete this page as the remake version of MGS already announced.


Metal Gear Solid: The Shadow Moses is a remake version of the original PS1 Version and Twin Snake Game Cube version, developed by Blue Point, associated with Kojima Production and published by PlayStation Interactive which is available exclusive on PlayStation 5, later on Microsoft Windows (Steam) and Microsoft Windows (Epic Game Store) using powered graphical by Fox Engine.

The Shadow Moses features remade graphical from scratch using the Fox Engine and will be fully HD in contrast different comparison from the original which is using 3D. With fully voice-over and re-recorded from almost reprise character voice actors, brand-new cutscenes in dynamic new angles, and the gameplay function & mechanics based on Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain. It also features a brand-new story cutscenes, adds new lines context from all story of Metal Gear Solid titles, Metal Gear 2 Flashback Mania and new music soundtracks.

The expansion downloadable contents which was titled as Metal Gear Solid -Interlude- which is set between Metal Gear Solid: The Shadow Moses and Metal Gear Solid 2: The Sons of the Liberty which it builds up the plots that set up for the second chapter of the game, including a brand-new costumes, weapons, and more implemented as downloadable content purchases.

Synopsis[]

During a training mission on Shadow Moses in February 2005, at a nuclear weapons facility on a remote island off the coast of Alaska, the Special Forces unit FOXHOUND rebelled against the United States government, under the command of Liquid Snake. Their target was the advanced weapon system Metal Gear REX, a gigantic robotic weapons platform able to independently launch a nuclear warhead at any target on the face of the planet. Their demand was the body of the greatest soldier who ever lived, Big Boss, which, through gene therapy, they could use to create an army of ultimate soldiers.

With the safety of the entire world at stake, at the request of the Secretary of Defense, Colonel Roy Campbell, the former commander of FOXHOUND, summoned Solid Snake out of retirement for one last solo covert operation.

Visual[]

  • Metal Gear Solid: The Shadow Moses is fully remade from scratch with the graphics powered by Fox Engine, with the third person shooter and 3D views has been replaced with a streamlined view and over-the-shoulder camera for aiming a weapon, with an optional first-person view at the toggle of a button.
    • Along with an existing cutscenes been remade with Fox Engine with a different camera movements, angles, different character movement, and angle shot character in dynamically ways.
  • Full-HD, QHD, and 4K Resolution will be supported for PlayStation 5, Steam, and Epic Game Store, including implementation of Ray-Tracing Support.
  • 60FPS Support and higher-frame rate (exclusive for PC Version) support.
  • Remade character models, environment, area textures and more powered by Fox Engine.
  • Motion Blur, Slow Motion, and more implementation element for the cutscenes added to the game.
  • New Visual Modes added, Graphic Modes and Performance Mode.

Audio[]

  • The voice acting has been re-recorded and new recording which make the remake version to be fully voiced, with the most notable Metal Gear Solid cast been reprise for the role. But there's voice acting cast been replaced, such as:
    • Donald Anderson which was originally voiced by Greg Eagles been replaced with James C. Mathis III
    • Kazuhira Miller (Impersonator) which was originally voiced by James Flinders (Original MGS) & Cam Clarke (MGS: Twin Snake) been replaced with Robin Atkin Downes.
      • Although as Miller in MGS is Liquid who impersonating him, which he using the voice change in order to not be too recognizable if Liquid impersonating Miller which fool the fans who play the game.
      • However, Liquid Snake is still voiced by Cam Clarke.
  • Dual Audio added, players can switch the voice over between Japanese and English voice. The lip-sync voice Japanese will also added to the game localization.
  • Arrangement music soundtrack, including additional new music track implemented to the game. As instead using Twin Snake style of music, the remade version will recover the iconic soundtrack from the original PS1 version in very new and different ways, while still hold the spirit from the original.
  • Major enhanced audio output and sound effect been improved with Fox Engine given the sounds more wider and open than before.
  • 3D Audio support exclusive for PlayStation 5 has been implemented.

Story Features[]

  • Brand-new cutscenes for MGS: The Shadow Moses - The remade version will had additional cutscenes, including new dialogues and lines added for MGS: The Shadow Moses, where it also includes another side of cutscenes that can focuses on the antagonist as well in different perspective ways, also fills the story cutscenes that didn't even explained in the original or even in Twin Snake (Game Cube Version).
    • The missing story cutscenes which never even explored or explain in the original, also includes how Miller been murdered by Liquid prior to the Shadow Moses in Alaska.
    • As the remade games will be fully-voiced, a dialogue lines outside cutscenes added to the game, give sense realistic of how there's interaction moments between characters to characters during infiltration or moving the characters.'
      • It can also used during Codec Conversation in real-time which now can be simultaneously when moving the character during infiltration.
    • Enemies dialogues lines is also made implemented to the game in different circumstances and situation depending how your infiltration goes.
    • Fleshing out more backstories and re-establishing the Sons of Big Boss in new ways, which has been implemented in order to increased the storytelling to explores the existing characters in new ways which makes fans and players really appreciate their stories that impacted to main plots and to the character as well, along with additional cutscenes regarding about them.
      • While for Psycho Mantis and Liquid Snake will be fleshing out more of their backstories, including the connection and reference from Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain, and for Revolver Ocelot characters been established as well to match his continuity of his character in MGSV.
    • A new cutscenes, dialogues, and lines might possibly can foreshadow the upcoming stories for Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots.
    • In possibility that there's another additional cutscenes that could be easter eggs and reference from all titles of MGS stories. Including secret easter eggs cutscenes from Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain.
  • Reimagined the story of Shadow Moses incident in Metal Gear Solid: The Shadow Moses - Remade version of the MGS story will be reimagined and cutscenes presentation will have several major changes in order to fit the implementation of a new camera movements and angle shot works in real-time or much say to be more realistic than before, while creating more depth human characters emotions, expression, and gestures movements which fit to their character personality in a broadly new to fit modern visual in real-time, that same goes for Solid Snake.
    • Metal Gear Solid: The Shadow Moses story will also re-established story and characters in deeper, dynamics and diversity from the original to fit the modern generation, while also fit to 2005 era as well.
    • While it is also increased the intense violence, sexual contents, blood & gore, and strong language which been implemented to cutscenes representation.
    • It is considered that the story, including cutscenes, dialogues, lines and more are very evolution from original Metal Gear Solid and Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snake which is how it been reimagined from scratch to fit modern visual and new camera angle movement works.
    • While, the existing story been expanded more to re-established the plots, lores, character development, continuities, and easter eggs surrounding in the Shadow Moses Incident story in completely new ways while still carrying spirit core of the series in new direction.
    • In addition how the old voice acting, including Solid Snake voice actor, David Hayter has been evolve and improved over the years and showing their great performance once again to voicing character in more depth ways.
      • As the script lines will be three more times larger than the original and even for the Twin Snake version, since the game will be fully voice-over along with the lines appeal for modern generations.
      • The tones of voice, character expression, emotions, pitched, and situation been increased in deeper way which has been evolved from the original.
    • Which is also possible for reimagine story cutscenes can improved and incorporated with a new cutscenes, dialogues and lines for MGS: The Shadow Moses, also for Flashback Mania.
  • Zanzibar Land flashback mania - which the cutscenes from Metal Gear & Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake been remade with the Unreal Engine which purposely as improves toward call-backs and reference from the past stories in Zanzibar Land when he met Big Boss and Gray Fox, including the dialogue lines.
    • Although the flashback only took much important things that became reference and callbacks in Metal Gear Solid: The Shadow Moses. While the rest of the story might be told in expansion story DLC.
  • Connecting the series continuities through lores, context, easter eggs, and foreshadow from all Metal Gear Saga series - Through reimagined story of Metal Gear Solid in the remade version, which means for great opportunity to connecting the lores, context, easter eggs, and foreshadow with all series events. It can connecting it's continuity through the characters during dialogues, codec conversation, and cutscenes, which is now properly re-established from the original in order to fit the timeline chronology and continuity.
    • Which is how MGS3, PW, MGSV, MG, MG2:SS, MGS2, and MGS4 has some or more connection through context, easter eggs, lores, and reference which made shown in the remade version of the story, which sees how the story reimagined in order to consistently connected it's lore with other Metal Gear series titles events.
  • Secret Cutscenes for MGS: The Shadow Moses - MGS remade version will features a secret cutscenes if players able to perform a Total Stealth or even defeating boss without run out health during boss battle, finding items or weapon or anything that depends on requirements in field or battle, which allows you to unlocked the Secret Cutscenes.
    • The Secret Cutscenes will features something unique about weapons, items, or even surprising 4th Breaking Wall lines dialogues, although there's more than meets the eye in weirdest, craziness and even unexpectedly in that moment.

  • New Ending for MGS: The Shadow Moses - Although the ending in MGS remade version might been reimagined and little expand in full-depth on three characters ending, there's also a new ending implemented, including what's next for Snake and Hal after. While the mid-credit scene might lead-up to Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty.
    • As the post-credit ending is also featured a same extra dialogues from The Twin Snake ending, along with Ocelot, while it had been reimagined and extended from the previous version. Which leads to Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty.
    • While there's a new extra dialogues added, which can be unlocked following viewing all secret cutscenes.

Cutscene Presentation[]

  • All cutscenes from the original MGS and Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snake were been remade, re-established, reworked and changes with using the power graphics of Fox Engine with implementation of new camera movements and angle works.
  • Dialogue script lines has been expanded in three times larger from the original and even Twin Snake version, which the dialogues lines in Metal Gear Solid: Shadow Moses will superior and major evolution from the original, which bringing back an iconic dialogues from PS1 original, including reimagined and re-established the story direction in new ways.
  • Foreign accents from the original Metal Gear Solid return, since the cutscenes presentation will be more diversity and depth dialogues than before, instead being American accent from Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snake.
  • The game's opening will be reimagined and remade from the original with additional sequence and difference to fit the new camera angle works and movements in real-time.

Gameplay Mechanics[]

  • Game mechanics and features from Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain has been implemented into the game.
    • Although few features from MGSV: Phantom Pain will not be implemented in order to fit the style of Metal Gear Solid which carries spirit from the original while the game mechanics been remade to using MGSV gameplay features.
    • With MGSV game mechanics been implemented to the game, the First Person Shooter, Crouch, Sprint, Quick Dive and more been implemented to the game.
    • CQC Mode added to the game, including CQC Expert which allows you to attacking the enemies to kill or stun them. Or CQC Command where you can choose, especially asking the question to the enemies.
    • Updated Aim Mode has been implemented to the game.
    • Although MGS: The Shadow Moses is not an open-world, and the game mechanics been remade which intentionally fit for interior building, although, the Shadow Moses areas will be more open-area and wider than the original, which possible areas size been increased to make it more open wider, including a new areas added.
      • Along with the enemies been increased and the infiltration will be challengeable like MSGV: Ground Zeroes and Phantom Pain.
      • Also iDroid are not in MGS along with Binoculars which are not added to the game, since this game is an infiltration operation, not an open-world.
  • Several changes on game mechanics and specific features from Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snake is also implemented to the game.
    • However, since the Metal Gear Solid: The Shadow Moses was remade using the Fox Engine, specific areas might be changes depending on design development which has been remade from scratch.
  • Game Over sequence from the original MGS PS1 has been remade and added to the game since it's an iconic.
  • VR Training Mode return after being removed from MGS: Twin Snake which has been remade and areas become larger than in original while the infiltration is challenging based on MGSV: Ground Zeroes.
    • Over 35 additional VR Training Mission are been implemented to the game with new area design and new training game mechanics.

Codec[]

Changes[]

  • Codec conversation will be more real-time, which players can still simultaneously control Solid Snake around during stealth mission, while making codec conversation, although if you need to choose the frequency radio you be able to stand down while during selecting the channel frequency radio.
    • Which is really similar with how Venom Snake from MGSV: Phantom Pain communicate Ocelot through the radios while can simultaneously controlling the character while during infiltration, stealth and combat in much freedom way for players to do.
    • Although, MGS: The Shadow Moses has a checkpoint or auto-save, you still can ask Mei Ling to save your data files.
    • While codec UI has made changed only with one faces during conversation as simultaneously that you can control snake on infiltration while during codec conversation. Which UI Codec redesign to be more like hologram video, but it's still a same codec as before.

Features[]

  • New codec conversation has been implemented, including about weapons, areas, objectives and more been added to the game. Also adds continuity lores from Big Boss Saga (MGS3, PW, & MGSV).

Miscellaneous[]

  • Although unlike in Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain where HUD is not added, a new based HUD been implemented for Metal Gear Solid: The Shadow Moses, including MGSV HUD for weapons is also now been implemented in new design.
    • Although, players can switch option between using HUD or not for HP, which now based on MGSV: Phantom Pain in real-time.
