Opening: Future[]
Tokyo, the capital city of Japan. It is called the place of dreams and fantasy.
However, there lies a living nightmare with the metropolis, unknown to the public.
They aim to control the people, at any fatal cost.
Their leader, a man with toxic desires and no love for anyone else.
And his flame of despair, lying in a boy who had just turned 18...
(As the text fades in, fire flickers and a few seconds after it fully appears, flames consume the text and then reveal the skyline of a burning Tokyo. Its buildings crumbling, its lights flickering, its people dying, as the view switches into the ruined districts...)
A masked man is seen running down the abandoned road, evading the rubble. A sign nearby says "Shibuya." A closeup of his face is shown, revealing a teenage boy with brown hair, reddish eyes, and an expression that fits more of an old man who lost his innocence rather than of a teenager.
The weeping little boy dries his eyes, and stares at him.
"At this point, your fate was already decided. But yet you believe this is the path you've chosen, alone...do you still wish you've met him before you decided on that lonely path?"

Prologue: Imprisoned[]
(Unless stated, the style of this chapter is done in a fairytale book manner.)
1999
Once upon a time...there was a little boy and his mother.
A baby boy is shown crawling near his mother in a sparsely decorated house. She is singing to him as he cuddles a rabbit doll.
Although they weren't in the best of living conditions, they were happy to have each other's presence.
Mother and son share a hug.
2006
He could only run to his dark closet and cry. Day after day, the cruelty never seems to end.
2014
(At this moment, the fairytale style switches back to the 16 bit sprites)
"Per...so...na."
From the blue flames,
On that day, another child loses their mother forever.

"Matsuki Karan" is the serial rapist The Otsuyu, who targeted underage boys for her own pleasure. One of her past pseudonyms was Noriko Kashiwagi.
"Yuyumi Koron" is actually Hanako Ohtani, daughter of a family owning a drug-dealing plantation that attempted to take over Inaba.
[Minigame: Treat Toss] Attracting his fangirls present at the buffet, he tosses them the sweets they want until the table is empty of cakes and ice cream, with a plateful of desserts for himself and Edward.
When the Plague pushes their way over to find out that the dessert table is empty, Ohtani throws a tantrum and spills her plate on Kashiwagi.
The expelled student falls onto the career criminal and...
SPLAT!!
What remains is a gory mess on the pavement.
And with this, the she-demons of Yasogami, the scorn of Inaba, the hate-crimes in human-shape, are rotting in hell.
With this, Edward Brisson departs from his charge's apartment.

Years before...
Felix is livid. He snatches Igor's walking-stick, flings it at Philemon's forehead, and yells profanities that makes Margaret and Theodore cover the young twins' ears, before calling the supreme spirit of mankind the "Dumbest Being to Ever Exist" and reminding him that even he cringed when Ohtani and Kashiwagi attempted to rape the Investigation Team boys in the Amagi Inn.
He gives Alphonse and Lavenza a final hug before leaving the Velvet Room to find Sho Minazuki, unaware that his lack of presence would further his Wild Card's nihilism.
The world is doomed anyway.
