Mars People is a current enemy in Metal Slug franchise, they first appeared on Metal Slug 2 as enemies of Final Mission.

The Martians are would-be alien invaders and have aligned with the forces of General Morden to use them in order to weaken the Earth's military forces. After they reveal their true plan, the Rebel Army makes a temporary alliance with the Regular Army to stop the Martians.
In Metal Slug 6, They have discovered their true predator and formed an alliance with the Rebel and Regular Army. This allows the player to save Martians and ride Rootmars.
Metal Slug Appearances[]
Mars People alongside its Cadre and Elite versions are enemies on this installement.
The Martians do not appear in the game, but appeared in an opening cutscene where they left general Donald Morden after finding their alliance with the rebel army unreliable.
At the end, a cutscene shows that they have been found to be working with the Ptolemaic Army on an alien planet, seemingly creating a new hybrid alliance. It seems like the Ptolemaic Army is also offering them reliable protection from remnants of the Invaders from Metal Slug 6.
The Martians had joined Ptolemaios to help protect themselves from the Invaders, who had seeked revenge after their defeat. The aliens were enraged to see Morden appear, knowing how many Martians they lost under his leadership. They, however, were backstabbed by Ptolemaios, who actually helped the Invaders.
However, the Martian leader, the Professor and Percier, along with some heroic Martians decided to break free from their oppressive leader, Ptolemaios. By letting Morden escape, they all teamed up to destroy the Elder One.
