Mario and Sonic: Worlds Unite is a 2018 video game for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo 3DS. It is a crossover game featuring the characters from Nintendo's Super Mario series and Sega's Sonic the Hedgehog Series.
Synopsis[]
After Dr. Eggman hatches a plan to team up with Bowser and conquer the world, Mario is flung away from the Mushroom Kingdom, into another world, where he comes across Sonic the Hedgehog. Upon learning about the danger ahead, The two heroes team up to take out their enemies and save their worlds from destruction.
Gameplay[]
The gameplay is similar to Sonic Generations, with 2D platforming levels for Mario, and 3D Speed levels for Sonic. The first half of the game take place in Mobius, and the 2nd half in the Mushroom Kingdom. Boss Battles include Bowser Jr, Dr. Eggman, Metal Sonic, Boswer, and the Final boss of Dr. Eggman and Bowser combined. Many of the traditional Mario power-ups return from being absent in Super Mario Oddysey, like the fire flower, starman, and tanooki suit.
