They use a robot disguise to blend in with the local inhabitants and Maeko successfully procures it without being caught, but the escort he stole it from soon realize it is missing and spread out their forces to find it. Before escaping and decrypting it however, they defy the instructions of her resistance compatriot on their communicator and instead pursues an organic citizen being hunted down by one of the city's troopers and rescues them first. Soon after, the city's patrolling forces track them down to retrieve the stolen infobot and they retreat.

Meanwhile in Queen Poppy and Kirby's dimension, the Festival of Heroes is being held in Dreamtropolis on Planet Popstar to celebrate the duo's many achievements in heroism, although they remark it has been years since they last did anything heroic, Mei still miss her mom and Miriam, is ok that she can remembered her mom and Poppy hold Mei's hand and the whole team entered. The festival is hosted by Queen Lavander (Poppy's Mother), Mr. Wolf, Cloud Guy, Funky Family (King Quincy and Queen Essence) and Rusty Pete. Queen Lavander also announces that Trollex has a gift to present to Mei at the front of the parade route and the team begin heading towards it. The celebration is interrupted however by the recently rebranded Goons-4-Less as a bounty has been put on their heads. After breaking through the attacking goons, they reach the front float, where Trollex reveals that he has recreate a replica of the Dimensionator from the ending of their last galactic adventure he presents it to Mei Lee, so she can travel the dimensions and find her secret big brother (Yin Mako Lee).

After Mei does her speech however, the device is stolen by Masked Mei Lee, with her Masked Besties in her new Party Crasher ship, who hired the Goons in place of her assistants. After the Poppy, Kirby, Mei, Her Besties, and the Team chasing them through the city and catching back up to them at the train station, Masked Mei confronts the team and attempts to use the Dimensionator against them, but Mei goes panda and impulsively throws a rock at the Phase Quartz power core, causing a large explosion that sends Masked Mei, and her Masked Besties and their ship hurtling into a nearby building and causes mass dimensional chaos to begin occurring across the universe. After taking a piece of the chipped phase quartz that landed near Mei's hand, Poppy uses it to pull the team towards the rifts now appearing and yank open gaps in the damaged dimension as part of a new makeshift gadget known as the Rift Tether.

Upon catching back up to Masked Mei, Poppy, Kirby, Mei, Her Besties, and the Team fight them in her ship and eventually defeat her. Masked Mei is now sick of frequently being defeated over the years, puts their true plan into motion with the Dimensionator and uses the device to bring the 22 of them to a dimension where the Green Big Heads always wins. After arriving on a rooftop in a neon lit, rainy city, the Dimensionator finally goes critical from being damaged and explodes. Mei's Besties and the half of the Team awakes in another part of the city and finds the Masked 5 Green Big Heads have won. Maeko and his group drop down behind them and after seeing the dimensional chaos happening and hearing them admit fault to it, Maeko: Takes Branch, Gil, and Holy Darnin with him, Mark: Takes Miriam, Barb, and Val with him, Priyo: Takes Priya, Trollzart, Dante, and Synth with him Andy: Takes Abby Trollex, and Minuet with him and Taylor: Takes Tyler, Lugina with her to against their will. Masked Mei and her Masked Besties awaken in a throne room and is mistaken for being their counterparts in this dimension; known as Emperor Meilin, Commander Miriam, Commander Priya, Commander Abby, Commander Tyler. The Emperor's Assistant remarks they have returned early from their conquest and the Green Big Heads ecstatically takes their places on the throne.

Queen Poppy, Molly, Kirby and Mei finally awaken and finds a wanted poster of Maeko, wondering where they could be. They soon find there in a place named Meilin City on a dimensional counterpart of Earth. They meet Ms. Zurkon; a counterpart of Mrs. Zurkon, who is an ally of the Resistance force against the evil tyrannical Emperor Meilin and her Empire, who rule the entire known galaxy in this dimension. Ms. Zurkon offers to sell them weapons but suddenly, Maeko and his group runs past them with their team including Branch (Poppy's Husband.) on their sides and escapes in their ships. Ms. Zurkon informs the 4 that only royal starships can leave the planet without being shot down and to find one he must look for a Resistance member known as the Phantom at Club Meilin.

The Phantom is revealed to be a counterpart of Skidd McMarx and has his cover blown at the Club, before being pursued by the Empire's robotic enforcers; the MeilinTroopers. The 4 chases after Phantom and defends him from the attacking troopers. Recognizing Mei has a Red Panda Spirit like Maeko, Phantom gives the 3 except Kirby with Resistance tech and gives the 3-gadget known as the Phantom Dash, allowing the 3 to run along wall panels, become intangible for a short period to pass through checkpoint barriers and avoid enemy attacks. Phantom informs them that Maeko always goes to his base in the planet Sargasso after his missions.

He makes with the 4 a deal and agrees to help them get a royal starship to leave the planet and pursue Maeko Branch, Gil, and Holy Darnin, if he helps them with hacking a propaganda blimp at the Meilin Day Spa. Queen Poppy, Molly, Kirby and Mei agrees and provides cover for Phantom from the Troopers, so he can program a message into the blimp for the downtrodden citizens of the city. Phantom then gives Queen Poppy, Molly, Kirby and Mei a hacking program named Glitch, so he can use the Emperor's private shuttle to get into Meilin Tower and steal 2 royal starships. Suddenly however, Phantom gives himself up to the Meilin Troopers to try and fight the Empire's corruption from the inside out.

Glitch initially was unhappy upon first meeting Queen Poppy, Molly, Kirby and Mei and finding that she had been handed off to someone she was unfamiliar with. Queen Poppy, Molly, Kirby and Mei introduced themselves and asked her for her help in the dour situation they were in, she hesitated at first but decided to assist in hacking the access console in Meilin Plaza. Glitch enters the shuttle's access console and assumes she will simply need to delete some old files but soon discovers Zeta Virus infections overtaking the system and rendering them inoperable. She at first panics that she does not have the training to handle viruses of this caliber, but she cautiously utilizes her Electro-Guns and Blitz-Infectors to eventually clear out the infection, much to even her own surprise. After deleting the viruses and destroying the virus nest pods sucking energy from the machine, the host computer came back online, allowing Queen Poppy, Molly, Kirby and Mei access to the office of Emperor Meilin and they show that Masked Mei has death traps, henchmen, warbots with UberDuck voices, 5 planet-destroying cannons, and that blasted Dimensionator. that caused them to attack her behind and the Emperor's Assistant summoned her warbots to take care of them and they take the 2 royal starships and left the planet, causing her to make a bounty.

On the way to Sargasso, Branch attempts to explain what is happening to Maeko, Maya and Mia, but they refuse to believe their story. A distress call then appears on her ship's computer from her friends who live on the planet, the Morts. A Meilin Seekerpede sent to search the planet suddenly clips her ship and sends it crashing to the ground, forcing them to make their way to the Morts' Gelatonium factory using other means. On the way, Maeko and Maya runs into Ms. Zurkon who informs the 2 Panda Spirits that they have added Poppy's vendor account to Maeko and Maya's so the 3 now share purchases. They refer to Poppy only as their "mutual friend on Meilin City", leaving Maeko and Maya confused. To cross the planet's acid swamps however, they will need to ride on the back of a Speetle and attempt to track one down. Gil also attempts to contact Molly with his communicator but finds that it has also been broken.

to pull open a gap in the damaged dimensions. Inside the pocket dimension they spot the Morts' helperbot; Maynard and follow the Speetle until it hides in one of its nests. Maeko, and Maya hits the nest, causing 2 Speetles to jump out and allowing them to finally jump on its back. Maynard acts as a guide and leads Them along a path out of the pocket dimension and back to the Gelatonium factory using the speeding Speetles. After arriving, Maeko, Maya and Mia find that the Goons-4-Less have taken the Morts' hostage and demand they give up the location of their bounty. Gil tries to explain that they had travelled through the dimensional vortex and are looking for Queen Poppy, Molly, Kirby and Mei but Maeko and Maya continue to dismiss their claims.

inside a large, purple dimensional anomaly next to the factory. Gil offers to inspect it as he has experience with dimensional anomalies from his previous adventure with them. Upon touching it, Gil has his consciousness transported to a space between dimensions and meets the astral form of a man named Gary who has been searching for someone like Gil to help him fix the dimensions. Gary introduces himself as a cosmic prophet and resides on planet Savali, studying in its vast Interdimensional Archives. He helps Gil with learning to repair dimensional damage and warns that the damage caused by the Dimensionator will continue to spread and eventually lead to a Dimensional Cataclysm unless it can be reversed by that which caused it; with another Dimensionator. After Gil learns more about dimensionality and how to reverse its damage, he eventually is able to repair the anomaly and reawakens on the floor.

Once the Morts are freed from inside the anomaly, Maeko, Maya and Mia meets back up with a female Mort she is good friends with and gives her apart from the Space Pirates needed to finish fixing a starship. While the Mort is fixing the ship, Maeko, Maya and Mia travels back to her secret hideout, puts a head scanner into Gil's head an into his main computer system and looks through his memory banks to find the truth about him. The events that occurred in Dreamtropolis play out on his monitor in which they witness the Dimensionator, 22 of them. He is shocked to see Mei and finally views the Dimensionator explode in Meilin City. Maeko wakes Gil up again and admits that he was telling the truth about everything. She reveals to him that she has a rather hard time trusting robots after his many bad experiences with them from the Emperor, her followers and pirates in which she has lost friends and during one such conflict; her arm, leaving her with some degree of PTSD.

Once the Infobot he had is decrypted, it begins sending out a signal and the Seekerpede that was patrolling the planet suddenly breaks open the wall of his hideout using its giant mandibles. The Seekerpede uses a tractor beam to pull all metallic objects towards it and it mistakenly takes Gil instead of the Infobot. Maeko, Maya and Mia; plagued with guilt over their treatment of Gil, and they the 5 chases after the Seekerpede on a Speetles to save him and launches onto it's back, ramming the machine's flight stabilizer. Upon it being grounded, she battles the craft and eventually destroys it's Nefarious Trooper pilot. Once they save Gil, Maeko offers to help him get a part to fix his broken communicator and the 6 hop into the new ship the Morts have fixed up for him. Before leaving the planet, Maeko, Maya and Mia finally checks the contents of the Infobot and finds that it is a target hitlist of the Emperor's key opposers; Phantom, Moydoy, Captain Quantum, Clatchkey and themselves herself. He posts the list to the Resistance's network to warn them of the danger and the 6 take off in their ship.

On the way to their destination, Gil laments the actions that lead him and the others to end up in this situation and blames Trollex for his short-sightedness in showing off the Dimensionator in public. The 6 arrive at Zurkie's Gastropub and Battleplex; a refuelling depot and Zurkon family-run business floating in the debris of the planet Scarstu that had been destroyed years ago by the Emperor. Maeko, Maya, Mia, Branch Holly Darnin and Gil go to the Gastropub and look for Zurkie; the establishment's owner and founder. Zurkie is a counterpart of Mr. Zurkon but is instead a pacifist with a stern violence restriction in his Gastropub.

To get the part to fix Gil's communicator, Maeko, Maya and Mia searches for 2 Space Pirates that they know has it and goes to the bar to ask Zurkie if he has seen them. Before Zurkie can answer however, the robot Space Pirate in question interrupts and quickly makes himself known. He is Pierre Le Fer; a counterpart of Rusty Pete and the first mate of Captain Quantum and Pirate Oona; a pirate counterpart of Oona. Maeko, Maya and Mia have known Pierre for a long time and is quite familiar with his antics. They attempt to flirt with them and flaunts tehir egos, but they repeatedly and flatly demand he hand over the part. They finally decide to challenge them to a fight for it, but Zurkie comes between the 3 and tells them to settle their quarrel in the Battleplex. The son of Zurkie and Ms. Zurkon; Zurkon Jr. is the mastermind of the Battleplex and arena announcer. He introduces Maeko, Maya and Mia and their opponents whilst providing his own brand of maniacal commentary for the fights. Maeko, Maya and Mia battle and defeats several waves of Pierre's and Pirate Oona's crew until she is set to fight the pirate himself. Despite Pierre's vain boastings, he is in fact rather cowardly and feigns a sprained ankle to avoid fighting Rivet himself and Pirate Oona sends a pirate Marauder named François to battle in their stead. After a tense fight, Maeko, Maya and Mia eventually emerges victorious against François and Pierre bitterly throws the part to her but not before first threatening that they will get their revenge for their defeat.

Maeko, Maya and Mia return to the Gastropub and sit down at a free table where Maeko, Maya and Mia insert the part into Gil's commutator compartment and is able to get his communicator working again. While Queen Poppy, Molly, Kirby and Mei is flying the stolen starship towards Sargasso, Gil activates his communicator and is able to make contact with him. Branch, Gil, and Holly Darnin assures them they are fine and is currently with the 3 that had taken them. Maeko, Maya and Mia sheepishly greet them over the communicator, and Poppy relays the information that Masked Mei has taken over as the Emperor of their dimension. Branch concludes that to begin forming a solution to their problems, they will need to build a new Dimensionator. Branch recounts what Gary had told Gil earlier about the Interdimensional Archives and Ratchet volunteers to travel to Savali and ask for his help in constructing a Dimensionator. While Maeko, Maya and Mia go to Savali, Branch suggests he and the others go to the planet Blizar Prime to acquire the Phase Quartz needed to power the device. And while the others needed to visit other Planets Undenounced to the 22 however, the Emperor's Assistant had been eavesdropping on their plans in the Gastropub the entire time. Upon returning to their ship, a public broadcast from the Emperor's office plays where Masked Mei announces she is offering a large bounty for the dead or alive capture of 29. The Assistant's spying also informed her that they would be arriving on Savali and Blizar Prime soon, where she has already sent Nefarious Trooper strike teams to intercept their arrivals.
