J-Stars Victory VS 2: Tournament of Worlds is a 3D fighting game that combines the universes of several Weekly Shōnen Jump manga series. It was produced and published by Bandai Namco in 2024 for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC and being developed by Spike Chunsoft. The game is a sequel to J-Stars Victory VS released in 2014.

Gameplay[]

J-Stars Victory VS 2: Tournament of Worlds is a 3D fighting game that supports up to eight players with a gameplay and graphical style similar to those of Dragon Ball: Zenkai Battle. A team of three characters has the possibility to have a fourth support character in the battle.

As fights are typically 3 vs 3 battles (but also support 1 vs 1 or 2 vs 2 battles as well as odd number teams), a CPU usually takes control of the player's partner character(s).

Player can also switch characters or summon a support character during battle by pressing holding shoulder buttons or tapping shoulder buttons while moving backwards. Swapping has many uses, from extending combos to allowing an ally to heal your health.

Each of your characters has a health bar that depletes when you take damage. If your health bar drops to zero, that character is KO'd and cannot be used for the rest of the round, causing you to immediately switch to one of your teammates.

The fighters can move and fight in all directions of a 3D battle field, which is partially destructible. The player can perform light and heavy attacks respectively, and the player can mix-and-match button presses in order to perform different combo attacks, and perform special attacks.

The player can also activate Victory Burst - which temporarily increases the amount of damage the character deals, as well as their running speed and jump height, and causes some characters to transform into another form - and use a Ultimate Attack once their  Meter has been filled by attacking enemies.

All characters also have a stamina gauge in battle. Stamina is depleted while sprinting, as well as each time the fighter successfully blocks an attack. Stamina recharges on its own when you do neither of these two actions.

While the stamina gauge has yet to fill, the player can charge it at a rapid pace, while also leaving themselves open to attack at the same time. When Victory Burst is activated, stamina is not depleted.

To defeat an enemy, the player must deplete their HP meter and will earn a point for doing so; the player with the most points when time runs out is the winner of the match. The player can also block attacks and timing a block perfectly will completely nullify the damage, otherwise only a small percentage of the damage will be dealt.
