Halo: Nicole is a first person shooter game that takes place chronologically after the events of the novel, Halo: Ghosts of Onyx.

The gameplay is more reminiscent of Pre-Reach Halo games but features new abilities; swimming, using bare fists independently without carrying any weapons and Smart-Scope (modern zoom mechanic). It introduces new race members of the Covenant such as the Inquisitors (law enforcement officers), Deadeyes (based on the scrapped Special Purpose Sniper) and Witchdoctors (field medics) as well as extending the pre-existing covenant species with the inclusion of Prelates (Prophet Supersoldiers) and Kig-Yar Hens (Female jackals)

Plot[]

Taking place after the Onyx Conflict, Nicole-458 now becomes stranded on a Covenant-occupied planet, colonized to be livable for Covenant civilians. She woke up from a drop pod and found herself stranded on a city without a weapon and forced to be low profile, she then got spotted by bunch of a Covenant alien law enforcement race know as the "Inquisitors" in groups of eight and then dragged to court for trial after being trapped via "combat harness restraint". Nicole was selected to be killed by the Energy Guillotine against her will. When Nicole was about to be beheaded by Parusa the Executioner, explosions interrupted the execution, giving her a chance to escape and retaliate. The Witchdoctors, octopus-like aliens, rush to bring the injured Covenant citizens to hospitals. Nicole has to gun down the Bugger Photographers to prevent herself from being sighted sensitively and then frantically take the "Inquisitor Ghost" to escape.

??, The town militia were still chasing down Nicole, even with vehicles.

After wiping out the entire militia, She came across an underground legion of heretics who worshiped the Master Chief known as the "Possessed", they are roughly the equivalent to Human Satanists from the Covenant Empire's point of view, whoever begins to side with the Master Chief would be accused of being "possessed by the demon". It would then be revealed that the member of the Possessed is behind the execution being interrupted. The lesser seen ranks of female Kig-Yar, referred by Dylan as "hens" were being sent to assault the Possessed. the Covenant Loyalist Army would show up after receiving a distress call from the other militia group when attacked.

Nicole would later thank the Possessed for providing assistance then the jungle operation subdivision of the UNSC Marines known as the "Junglecreeps" arrive to pickup Nicole from the alien planet, ODST Riot Troops (ballistic shield users) would later be dispatched to fend off Covenant Loyalist reinforcements while escaping into space. Unexpectedly, the Covenant Separatists also came to greet Nicole. The Black Ops units, deadlier and better trained than the Spec Ops covenant and have EVA and jetpack training of the Covenant Rangers unlike the Spec Ops.

Nicole decided to raid the Covenant Loyalist ship to keep even the Black Ops distracted and slay both prophets aboard it, the Prelate Zealot and the "Kung Fu Prophet".

Trivia[]

  • Jackal Snipers are absent due to the inclusion of the newly introduced Deadeye species in the Covenant Empire.
  • "Jianke" means swordsman in Mandarin and refers to the fact that San 'Shyuum Jianke are swordsmen.
  • "Kung Fu Prophet" was dubbed so because of his fighting style resembling Chinese Martial Arts which humanity prior to the 20th-26th century practiced.
  • Coincidentally, as the Kig-Yar are an avian race, they would be called hens as the term, "Hen" commonly refers to female birds.
  • Unlike the Engineers, The Witchdoctors are more martially inclined just like human combat medics.
  • The Possessed are named in reference to Demonic possession, hence Master Chief was called "demon".
