~ The voice when Voshkod is selected in the Conquest mode. |
The Socialist Union of Voshkod are one of the twenty-one core factions in Gaiaterra: Elysea's Conflict. This faction focuses on brute force, powerful weapons and a strong army to defeat their enemies.
History[]
In 1924 V.C., a man known both for rebuilding the country and mass-murder, Emet-Selch Garlean, became the "General Secretary of the Communist Party of the Socialist Union". Garlean goal was to recreate and modernize Eorzea, now internationally known as the Socialist Union of Voshkod. But he had another goal. Under the influence of mysterious advisers who continually drugged him to affect his mental health and drove him from his prior socialism in one-nation policies, he came to believe that the West was preparing an imminent assault on the motherland, and with extensive propaganda and selective usage of facts, the Voshkod people came to believe this was true.
On 1953 V.C., Voshkod's naval fleet spotted in the Summerset Beach. While Aquila has some of the best weapons at the time, Garlean attacked the unsuspecting Aquilan and it took about two months to fully conquer a region of Aquila. With weak coastal defenseive weapons without anti-vehicle support, propellor planes from the 1940s V.C., and antiquated strategies like bunker lines, the Summerset region proved to be no match against the red iron of Garlean Red Army.
With first parts of Aquila laid in, the next target was Hawke, Still limited to the days of the post Hawke War, the Dwarves of Ironforge unveiled their trump card - their own tanks. The mechanized counter-assault proved more successful than expected, and the Ironforge border could be held long enough for the Hawke leaders to hold a conference and find a solution while Aquila struggled their fight against at the same time.
For years, both continents were entrenched in brutal warfare, until it seemed all of Aquila and Hawke would fall. At that time, the Voshkod joined allies with the Ascalian Monarchy and their combined forces opened new fronts to Ulthuan (who were still recovering from the first Katsuragi-Coalition War) through the Attack on Eatine Harbor, Zemuria through the bombardment of Heimdallr and Andora through the Galbaldia Landings.
At that time, the Hawke leaders had already come up with a plan. Almost literally out of the blue, new tank designs in blue steel appeared, infantry divisions who would have fought each other 2 years ago if necessary stood together and ambushes surprised the formerly victory-sure Voshkod.
At the same time a Aquilan commander named Joseph Conti, whose actions turned the tide of the Aquilan conflict thanks to his skills
In a game of cat and mouse, the Voshkod assault was first halted in Hawke, then Aquila, then Zemuria, then Andora and Ulthuan, then finally pushed back all the way to Eorzea, surrounding the capital heart of Erozea. But, for one reason or another, the combined forces would not go any further. Garlean, who was found dead in his office nearing the end of the war, left a letter behind designating his successor, Premier Cherdenko. This man was all too eager to end the war and negotiate peace with the Allies.
Cherdenko was not the type of man the Alliance hoped, however. In the time of the Cold War, he ordered another increase in the military to make up for the losses under Garlean, and with modernized designs, soon ordered an attack on his own. Their plans was to eclipse the prior war in scale. As a matter of fact, it went even more successfully than the prior one. The Voshkod would do a series of Proxy conflicts and Military Aid all over Gaiaterra such as Encantadia, Valyria, Kalimdor, Tulamides and Exodar in order to weaken Colonial presence since the war.
Nearing the end of the Cold War, the Voshkod was pushed back once again by their enemies, mainly Exodar and Tulamides and facing a series of revolts within Eorzea.
At around 1988 V.C., Premier Cherdenko was assassinated by an sniper shot from a certain sniper while he was in office.
Cherdenko's successor, Lunafreya, had the burden to negotiate peace with the main six like her predecessors did, and was faced with mistrust. However, Lunafreya managed at least a cease-fire with both power blocks, who were just as exhausted from the revolution. The Allies made attempt to provide aid to battle worn nations, much to the dissent of the people living in these regions. Will Lunafreya lead her Union to a new era of peace and understanding? Or will the path only lead to more struggle? Only time will tell.
Description[]
The Socialist Union of Voshkod is one of the superpowers of Gaiaterra's history, however the nation itself had a tumultuous history. Before the Great Aquilan-Voshkod War it was an powerful empire ruled by the Garlean family, and following its defeat in the Great Aquilan-Voshkod War they found itself in an economic crisis. Escaping it, Voshkod was antagonized by the victors for many years before they turned their eyes elsewhere, but Voshkods didn't prosper. It was soon time to change, in 1989 V.C. their nation's seat of power after Cherdenko's demise was occupied by Lunafreya Nox Fleuret, what was described by the opposition as a 'post-Garlean oligarchy' and 'support of Aquilan loyalty', who only steered their nation to the right direction. However, while Lunafreya appeared to be the perfect puppet for the Aquilans, she secretly harboured a burning hatred for the Aquilans and later the Guardians of the Tacitus for ruining her nation.
Despite this, the Voshkods still has some tricks up its sleeves, with their army begins to reform, and new technological developments such as Tesla weaponry combined with huge amounts of heavy armour and soldiers have cemented their mastery of brute force since then.

Mechanics[]
Camaraderie[]
The Voshkods are trained to not be disheartened by their fallen brethren, but to make use of their sacrifice and seek vengeance upon their killers. When a friendly Voshkod infantry is killed, friendly infantry in a radius of 90 around the killed infantry gain a culminative 10% increase in damage and 20% rate of fire every time a nearby friendly unit dies for 10 seconds.
Big Sister Is Watching[]
Unique to the Voshkod is that they only use one structure to advance their tiers. Said structure is the Telescreen Tower, which must be upgraded to unlock advance units and structures
Bureau Structures[]
To aid in their war effort, and to upgrade their Telescreen Tower to tier II, the commander must build at least one of the three bureau branch
Bureau Of Technology[]
Accessed by the Battle Lab. This branch provides upgrades that increase the effectiveness of their units and structures (though defenses belongs to the Bureau of Propaganda). From Infantry Kits to Grinder Threads, Defense Turrets on their building to equipping every Conscription Center with a Man Cannon to launch their soldiers into battle.
Bureau Of Industry[]
Accessed by the Industrial Plants. This branch provides upgrades that lower the cost of their units and increase the resource gain from ores and structures, making it easier to spam them. And the Industrial Plant also doubles as an Ore Smelter and gives a trickle of resources, giving the commander a head start on reckless economical expansion necessary to support such a strategy.
Bureau Of Propaganda[]
Accessed by the Super Reactor. This branch provides upgrades to further improve their defenses, gain access to higher tier defenses, use propaganda to ensure their forces hold the line, and provides power to power said structures. And every upgrade purchase also passively increases the Super Reactors power.
While all three Bureaus can be built, though only one Bureau can be built when the Telescreen Tower is at Tier II, III, and IV, the price and time to get each Bureau's upgrades means that, unless the battle is extremely long or the commander managed to get the economical advantage, the commander will either fully commit into one Bureau, leaving the other two Bureaus at low level, or gain access to all the medium-level Bureau upgrades.

Trivia[]
- The faction itself is based on the Soviet Union from the Red Alert series (notably Red Alert 2 and their mods Mental Omega, Red Alert 20XX and Red Resurrection and Red Alert 3 and it's mods Paradox and Corona) and Russia in Command & Conquer: Generals mods (specifically Rise of the Reds and End of Days) with an aesthetic similar to Red Alert 2 Soviets (notably Mental Omega and Red Alert 20XX) and ROTR and The End of Days Russia.
- Hyurs speaks with a Russian accent, Elezens speaks with a Ukrainian accent. the Roegaydn speaks with a Kazakh accent, the Vierans speaks with a Belarussian accent and the Hrothgar speaks with a Central Asian (Tajik, Uzbek, Turkmen and Krygyz) accent.
- At the top, there is a closeup portrait of Aranea Highwind, is shown with red background at the back in between the Voshkod's factional flag at both sides. And at the bottom, it shows the background with an army of Conscripts, Regulars, Tesla Troopers, Desolators, Maulers, Kodiak Tanks, Apocalypse Tanks, Tesla Cruisers, Gorgons, and Buratinos with a silhouette of Cataclysm far away from the rest, and a squadron of Su-47 Berkuts, Ka-68 Hellions, Su-35 Flanker-Es, Mi-24 Hinds and Kirov Airships. So both of these are fused together into a single art design for the Voshkod variant box art of Gaiaterra: Elysea's Conflict.
