Gaiaterra: Elysea's Conflict/Epic Units

Built to break through a deadlock, and is the essence of the Legendary General, the Epic units is the strongest, and largest, units in Gaiaterra: Elysea's Conflict. Defined as an incredibly powerful unit, often taking a long time to produce and expensive. An epic unit is able to engage and defeat entire armies of ordinary units. Only another epic (or a unit the epic cannot attack, such as air units) can fight them one-on-one with any hope of surviving without taking massive casualties.

They usually make use of experimental and/or classified technology, hence their considerable price. Even Legendary Generals wealthy enough to afford two or more can ordinarily only obtain one at a given time. They often require customized and dedicated infrastructure in order to produce or maintain, further adding to their cost and rarity. Epic units will announce their construction across the battlefield.

Though only buildable at the highest tier (Tier V), the highest general rank (5-star General's Promotion), and limited to one. Each epic unit has the power to crack an enemy base given enough support from allied units, or even by themselves. Either armed to the teeth or bearing their faction's strength at full force, these units can easily turn the tide of battle and is comparable to a superweapon.

The Federation of Aquila is unique for having two Epic units, one for Conventional and one for Futuristic, but can only build one. With Conventional costing the same as most Epics and can be upgrade while Futuristic is more expensive but is more powerful.
