Note: This article only covers the Red Arremer named Firebrand, as not every Red Arremer is Firebrand.
Firebrand is a heroic Red Arremer who always does whatever he can to protect the Ghoul Realm. He has fought and ended wars trying to make sure the innocents that live in the realm are safe.
He belongs to a heritage of mutant gargoyle's given the title of "The Red Blaze", giving them the responsibility to stop the King of Destruction, and powerful fire magic.
Personality
Firebrand is a lone wolf, he acts independently from anyone else, with the only help he gets is receiving an item from them.
However he does enjoy being around other ghouls, he even turned multiple ghouls like Arma to his side. He enjoys fighting, especially against giant threats like Somulo, this has made him somewhat full of himself, he isn't prideful he usually just acts before thinking, even then he is extremely intelligent and thinks very quickly, coming up with plans while in battle.
Overall he is still honorable, selfless, and kind to his entire community, he isn't devoted to the rulers of the Ghoul Realm, he is devoted to its people, he does whatever he can to make sure that every innocent in the realm stays safe and happy.
Some of his personality is only told to us through the manuals, but a lot of it is actually shown through the games themselves.

Trivia
- Firebrand could be based on or at least partially inspired by Robert the Devil, which is a medieval legend about a knight who is the son of Satan, and is even described as a Firebrand.
- Despite seemingly never meeting him in the main games, Arthur's special intros against Firebrand in the Marvel vs. Capcom series reveal the two have fought many times prior in the MvC universe.
- This could be because the Firebrand shown in Marvel vs. Capcom is based more on the Red Arremer enemy instead of Firebrand himself
- The same thing happens in his bio, despite the fact that Firebrand never appeared in the Ghosts 'n Goblins games, the first game listed in his Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and Infinite bio is Ghosts 'n Goblins.
- The reason why he is green on the american cover of Gargoyle's Quest is because he appeared green in game due to gameboy graphics using four shades of green
- A similar thing happens with Kirby on the american cover of Kirby's Dreamland
- The Red Arremer Joker from Namco ✕ Capcom is heavily implied to be Firebrand, possessing a noble warrior attitude, being loyal to Astaroth, and making numerous references to a long-passed "War of the Crest". Eventually in Chapter 41, the Joker is outright confirmed as being the "hero" of said war.
