A former Brotherhood of Steel Sentinel, the father of Liberty, Victory and Valor, and the man that — according to legend — defeated the Colorado Legion regiment with the help of the Hundred Families, gone discharged in the Brotherhood due to treason and founded the Patriarchs. A self-admitted benevolent dictator, he keeps the peace in outside lawless Wasteland through the Marshalls; a ruthless defense militia that answers to him and the Hundred Families.

Liberty Buchanan

The Patriarch's daughter and eldest child. A woman that prefers to rule over rather than coexist with the other factions of the Wasteland and the City of Halcyon, believing that a single, strong leader is needed to bring stability to the region and that her father was not doing enough to establish a strong nation-state. She is the one who bash the Traveler in the head following the ambush at the start of the game and serves as the main antagonist of the first half.

A former doctor working for the NCR. Following the 2nd Battle of Hoover Dam, she defected and joined the Patriarchs as the head medical commander.

She was Solomon Reed's protégé and longtime partner until she reluctantly betrayed him due to the after effects of the First Monstadt-NCR war that took toll of her sanity, ending up as the third wandering Traveler in the Wasteland. She serves as the secondary antagonist of the Oceans of Songs DLC
