Disney Unite is an open-world action-adventure platform game developed by Disney Interactive Studios for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Nintendo Switch. The game is based on the Disney Channel animated series, most namingly Amphibia, Gravity Falls and The Owl House.

Plot[]

An interdimensional warlord named Galacto is wreaking havoc in the multiverse in a mission to control every dimension and then some, leading to three heroes, Luz, Dipper and Anne, to form the Universal Nimrods Intervening Troublesome Entropy, cross the dimensions and stop Galacto’s reign before everything gets overrun, or worse yet, destroyed.

"The U.N.I.T.E. in: The Universal Uprising of the Underappreciated Underdogs" (DLC)[]

Fed up of being upstaged by Hamster and Gretel for the umpteenth time, a group of villains decide to leave their home dimension using a lost Galactic Shard and take over the whole multiverse. Their chaos catches the attention of the U.N.I.T.E,, who head into new territory to track them down before they wreck the multiverse.

Gameplay[]

The game works in an open world manner, in which the player can control the three heroes in several different worlds to find Galactic Shards. Collecting all of the Galactic Shards is the only way the player can power the Final Vortex and play through the final level. The player can select these worlds through the Dimensional Jump-inator portals, as well as checkpoint graffiti being used to save their point in the world. In order to get out of a tricky situation, the player can summon a character from the Disney pantheon through the Bringer-Upper to help in combat or with a puzzle. The three heroes have their own unique abilities: Dipper’s able to shrink himself using his flashlight, Luz uses her wand to move heavy objects with magic and Anne is able to summon her calamity powers to blast open dead ends.

Each world comes with its own bevy of sidequests and characters to interact with, so there won't be any rush should the player want to deviate from the mission and explore. Or, if they want something to ease their mind between missions, they could try Arcade Mode, a series of four minigames that could win them coins, which can be used to buy trophies, costumes, character discs for the Bringer-Upper or even weapons.
