Compile Heart vs. Jump (コンパイルハート VS.ジャンプ, Konpairuhāto bāsasu Janpu) is a 2D crossover fighting game developed by Arc System Works in collaboration with Bandai Namco and published by Compile Heart. Released for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. It features characters from various Compile Heart and Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump franchies.

The main poster characters of the game will be Neptune from Compile's Heart's Hyperdimension Neptunia series and Goku from Jump's Dragon Ball series.

Gameplay[]

The game plays similarly to BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle, particularly with players partaking in 2-on-2 tag battles.

It is especially notable for mixing gameplay elements from other Arc System Works' fighting games, including mechanics that were once exclusive to their respective games, such as Reverse Beat Passive Link from Under Night In-Birth, Vanish and Super Dash from Dragon Ball FighterZ, etc.

When characters have access to their alternate, stronger or full transformations, such Neptune or Goku, they can be done via Resonance Blaze. Others are accessed instead through either Distortion or Astral Skills.

Like BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle, the controls were simplified compared to some BlazBlue games and other participating series. In addition, each character was given some universal options, such as an overhead with the heavy button, invincible reversal attack, and auto combos.

Story[]

One day, Neptune—The CPU of Planeptune—is swept away to Dragon Ball universe as Goku save Neptune from falling, Neptune then would get along for some time with Goku before she return her home. When many of Compile Heart universes collides with many of the Shōnen Jump universes, Compile Heart heroes join forces with the Shonen Jump heroes to to combat against Kaguya Otsutsuki (as Kaguya was the one who's responsible for fusing many worlds).

Note[]

  • Unfortunately, like Guilty Gear Xrd -REVELATOR- and BlazBlue: Central Fiction, Compile Heart vs. Jump does not have an English dub for an international release.
  • The game features a dedication to the memory of mangaka Kazuki Takahashi, of Yu-Gi-Oh! fame, who passed away before the time of the game's development cycle.
