Collin the Speedy Boy is an American action-adventure superhero game series created by Oscar Hamilton, being developed by Scarlet Moon Games and published by Acclaim Entertainment (1993-1995), Time Warner Interactive (1995), Infogrames (1998-2003) and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment (since 2005) since April 16th, 1993.

Synopsis[]

Collin is a daredevil teenager who lives in a world filled with strange and bizarre occurrences as he defends the town of Magnum City as he faces against the forces of Bryte and her army.

First Game[]

After gaining super speed, Collin Brady decides to use his speed to fight against Bryte and her forces as he tries to stop her from capturing all of his friends to use them as a weapon.

2[]

Bryte returns with a mysterious new ally known as the Macaw as she and Macaw begins kidnapping people all over Magnum City as Collin has to face against Macaw and figure out who they are.

3[]

Two devious siblings, Ken and Kate, have revealed themselves, planning to become as fast as Collin as Collin and the Macaw have to face against them and Bryte who is willing to help them become as fast as Collin.

Bryte's Revenge[]

Collin has learned that Bryte has returned to Magnum City with strange nanobots that brainwash several of the friends that Collin had made during the previous games as he has to race and stop these corrupted friends while figuring out Bryte's true goals.

Set sometime before the first game, Bryte is an aspiring supervillain as she decides to try and find a town to take over to start her villainy, deciding to audition for the Secretive Society of Evil Doers as after getting rejected, she decides to join their tournament of villainy to beat all of them and prove herself as the number one villain.

Tommy's Great Adventure[]

Wanting to prove he can be as brave as Collin, Tommy embarks on an adventure of his own when he comes across a newly opened circus which is not what it appears to be, and a ringmaster named Alakazamus who has more than impactful plans for the guests, with Tommy gaining help from a mysterious being known as the Player as well.

  • Collin Brady/Collin the Speedy Boy (voiced by Josh Keaton from 2001 to 2016 and Max Mittelman since then) - a cocky and daredevil teenager who after finding a crystal, gains super speed as he heads to defend Magnum City from a plethora of dark threats, usually finding some way to end up on top against threats.
    • Tommy (voiced by Tom Kenny from 2001 to 2016 and Sam Riegel since then) - Collin's talking pet opossum who is both a massive coward but surprisingly wise, guiding his owner, even if sometimes he chickens out of things.

  • Evelynn Rodriguez/Macaw (voiced by Maria Canals-Barrera from 2001 to 2016 and Cristina Vee since then) - a quite aggressive teenager who has a rivalry with Collin and was initially manipulated by Bryte to face against him as soon she is convinced to betray Bryte and be friends with Collin, eventually growing a crush on him that Collin has no idea about. Eventually, she works out her crush and decides to just be friends with Collin.

  • The Player - a mysterious yet good-willed, friendly and helpful spectral entity who helps Tommy in defeating Alakazamus and his Circus of Magic, although they are not seen or heard for anytime in the game.

  • Albert (voiced by Richard Steven Horvitz since 2001) - a somewhat dumb yet well-meaning alien humanoid who lives in Magnum City and is a big fan of Collin after he was saved by him, although he gets captured on several occasions.
  • Cody Brady (voiced by TBD since 2001) - a supportive and friendly yet sarcastic teenage boy who is Collin's brother, reluctantly helping Collin after he got kidnapped by Bryte's forces, usually trying many interests that he ultimately ends up not caring about at all.
  • Kara Wills (voiced by TBD since 2001) - a fashionista and clumsy teenage girl who is Collin's childhood best friend, usually raving about the latest fashion trends and supports his goals in saving Magnum City.
  • Matty Stone (voiced by TBD since 2001) - a shy and anxious teenager who is one of Collin's friends as he is afraid of almost everything, being quite cowardly at times.
  • Rocky (voiced by Billy West since 2001) - an easily intimidated crab who just wants to live in peace, usually being upset when he gets involved in Collin's shenanigans, finding Collin to be somewhat annoying.
  • Dr. Jack Kanoff (voiced by TBD since 2001) - a rather nutty scientist who originally operated out of the Steampunk Punklands as he develops multiple inventions that goes awry, moving to many areas in Magnum City.
    • Bolt (voiced by TBD since 2001) - Dr. Kanoff's pet monkey and personal assistant who often likes to bicker with his own creator, although he truly cares for him.
  • Frostie (voiced by TBD since 2001) - a calm and peaceful snowman who is a special snowman who can't melt, loves to meditate, sometimes giving Collin strange mystic advice, despite having no idea of what he is truly saying.
  • Globber McGoobertson (vocal effects by TBD since 2001) - a clumsy yet friendly giant goo monster who loves to lay around wherever he goes, speaking a strange language that Collin is shockingly able to understand.
  • Shanise (voiced by TBD since 2001) - a lazy teenage ghost girl who doesn't care about people entering her haunted house and spends time watching TV and eating snacks, surprisingly being friends with Collin.
    • Papa Gus (voiced by TBD since 2001) - Shanise's clueless and likewise lazy grandfather who hates the youth, finding them to be absolutely annoying.
  • Jamie Edwards (voiced by TBD since 2001) - a tomboyish and laid back teenager who loves venturing into nature as she was lost in the Perilous Jungle before being saved by Collin, although she usually gets into many situations.

  • Folf (voiced by TBD since 2001) - a well-meaning but weird wolf-fox hybrid who just loves roaming around the wilderness but was soon kidnapped, befriending Collin after being rescued.
  • Touchbot (voiced by TBD since 2001) - a goofy feminine android who loves to play football as she is saved by Collin and likes to play football with him, usually trying to challenge him to football games.
  • Sugar Princess Luna (voiced by TBD since 2001) - a bubbly and sweet loving space-traveling alien with a star rod who befriends Collin as she runs the Interplanetary Candy Factory.
  • Captain Gustavo (voiced by TBD since 2001) - a crazy and goofy pirate captain who is a falling apart skeleton as he wants to sail the world, usually trying his best to find rare and valuable treasures and booty.
  • Ginny (voiced by TBD since 2001) - a giddy frog girl who runs a massive cruise ship as enjoys showing tours through the swamp although her ship got took over by Bryte's forces, although it is now back to normal and she quite likes exploring strange areas.
  • Mister Trebble (voiced by TBD since 2001) - a musical loving treble note who runs the Rhythm Festival as he loves music and rhythm, usually trying to find some way to make the festival absolutely great and fantastic, befriending Collin after he saved him.
  • Koko (voiced by TBD since 2001) - a grumpy koala who is rather lazy and prefers to sleep and have things all to himself until he was captured by Bryte's forces, being the sole remaining resident of the Airborne Temple. After being evacuated from Airborne Temple, he moves into Magnum City proper, deciding to make a restaurant called Koko's Crazy Chicken.
  • Vicky Simms (voiced by TBD since 2001) - a hotheaded daredevil teenager who usually tries to get into dangerous and quite life threatening situations due to her daredevil nature, wanting to prove she is the most epic daredevil in all of Magnum City.
  • Derek Doyle (voiced by TBD since 2001) - Collin's high school bully who very often chickens out to Bryte's forces, usually being threatened by them although he ends up befriending Collin and gets into many antics with him.
  • Po (voiced by TBD since 2001) - an anthropomorphic red panda who likes to explore caverns, loving the thrill of exploring as he is friends with Collin, usually trying to find some cave.

  • Jake O. Wheels (voiced by TBD since 2001) - a speed-loving kart racer who befriends Collin after being saved from Ken and Katie's forces, having a friendly rivalry with Collin, seeing Collin as a cheater.
  • Isla (voiced by TBD since 2001) - a mermaid who loves her kingdom and splashing around, being rescued from Ken and Katie's forces by Collin, having a rather unreciprocated crush on him, comedically dreaming about marrying Collin, much to his horror.
  • Bumble (voiced by TBD since 2001) - a calm and relaxed bumblebee scholar who operates in the Insectoid Colosseum as he enjoys studying art and literature, having taken it over after the defeat of Ken and Katie, trying to change it into an artistic community.
  • Felix (voiced by TBD since 2001) - a monkey who loves to party and just hang around as he loves wearing small little boots and wants to one day be in charge of the Treetop Rave, soon befriending Collin after being saved.
  • Felicia Watanabe (voiced by TBD since 2001) - a hyperactive young ninja girl who happens to be a massive fan of Collin as she works at the Ninja Fortress, trying her best to be the best ninja around, although her hyperactive nature can sometimes cause problems.
  • Pixel (voiced by TBD since 2001) - a cat-like pixel creature who loves to be playful and have fun as he is in charge of the Mega Arcade as he finds Collin to be an awesome hero after being saved, wanting to find some way to make a video game about him.
  • Little Ace (voiced by TBD since 2001) - a dwarfish hapless girl who happens to be a zombie as she resides in Nightmare Land and quite likes having fun, even if sometimes it can be scary fun, encountering Collin and befriending him.
    • Spooky (voiced by TBD since 2001) - Little Ace's pet werewolf as he likes to hang out with his owner, although he can be quite overprotective as well.
  • Princess Scrubia (voiced by TBD since 2001) - the cleaning obsessed princess of the Neat Freaks who was kidnapped by the Dust Bunnies, as she despises everything dirty and gross, usually carrying several things of cleaning materials.
  • Dr. Nigel E. Neutron (voiced by TBD since 2001) - a nerdy yet cowardly scientist who is one of Dr. Kanoff's many students as he usually runs his own experiments, although he is usually forced to work for villains thanks to his cowardly nature.
  • Icicle (voiced by TBD since 2001) - a very friendly and sweet Yeti who loves to bake cookies as he refused to be enslaved by Ken and Kate's forces, being captured by them and saved by Collin, being happy that he can work on making cookies again.

  • Bryte (voiced by TBD from 2001 to 2016 and Kira Buckland since then) - an insane and hammy bird-like creature who wants to rule over Magnum City and beyond, creating numerous inventions and being Collin's greatest and most recurring enemy, often scheming several ways to destroy and embarrass Collin, although her schemes often backfire.
    • Crok (voiced by TBD from 2001 to 2016 and Richard Epcar since then) - a crazy yet incompetent crane-like creature who is Bryte's henchman, often coming up with insane ways to defeat Collin although most of his plans fail, usually causing him to get punished by Bryte.
  • Gurkha (voiced by TBD since 2001) - a rude velociraptor who works for Bryte or whoever pays the highest as he is a recurring threat to Collin.
    • Tyrone (voiced by TBD since 2001) - a gruff and aggressive triceratops who is a part of Gurkha's mercenary group, helping him out with stopping Collin.
  • Fall Beast - a giant wooden tree who guards the exit to Autumn Plains, being recruited by Bryte to get Collin out of the way.
    • Leafy - a small, yet surprisingly intelligent talking fall leave that despite his size, actually can pack a punch and can handle more than one hits, liking to charge at Collin, being Autumn Plains' miniboss.
  • Star - a roboticized dolphin sent to Aquatic Oasis to prevent Collin from leaving as he fires multiple starfishes at Collin to get him out of the way.
    • Talia - a royal and brainwashed mermaid who was brainwashed to be Star's minion and uses her trident to attack Collin, being the miniboss of Aquatic Oasis.
  • Sheamus Ruckus - a rebellious punk outfitted with a steam powered Mech suit by Bryte as he takes over the Steampunk Punklands to do a never ending concert.
    • Drumotron - a drumming robot who works for Sheamus as he is sent to cause chaos using giant drumsticks to fight.
  • The Ringclownster - an insane clown who is the ringmaster of the Chaotic Carnival as he works under Bryte and wants both laughs and screams.
    • George the Mesmerizing - a scheming illusionist who works under the Ringclownster and likes to put tricks on the mind by using his hypnotic illusions.
  • Snowdriller - a gigantic robot who oversees mining in the Frosty Mines as he is hacked by Bryte, now causing destruction and chaos in the mines.
    • Snowballer - a giant snowball-like robot that rolls around as he works for Snowdriller and likes to attack innocents.
  • Mother Darkweb - a spider-legged witch who rules over the Gruesome Graveyard as she wants to help Bryte in her operations.
    • Raggedy - a goofy skeleton who claims to be scary but is rather pathetic as he works for Mother Darkweb and tries to prevent Collin from beating his master.
  • Mayor Jackpot - the psychotic and luck loving ruler of Casino City, he chooses his minions, traps and weapons randomly (similar to a slot machine) to attack Collin.
    • Red Card - a loyal living red card with a diamond that works for Mayor Jack that is surprisingly very skilled at fighting and can use card-related powers to attack Collin, mainly summoning them.
  • Boulder - an aggressive and skilled gorilla from the Raging Jungle who is skilled at fighting and, as he is hired by Bryte to attack and destroy Collin.
    • Violet - a flower-like creature that happens to be a massive beast as he is tamed by Boulder to distract and destroy Collin.
  • The Greenbeast - a giant green monster made by Bryte to help her take down all of her enemies as he is sent to help her operations in the Volcanic Lands.
    • Inferno - a snake made out of lava who works under the Greenbeast and just loves to see things burn.

  • Proto-Collin (also voiced by Josh Keaton from 2001 to 2016 and Max Mittelman since then) - Bryte's ultimate weapon after Evelynn's betrayal who is a strange zombie-like clone of Collin, being hard to control but is somewhat powerful.
  • Pineback - a giant talking tree who was created by Bryte as he fires out explosive pinecones as he wants to prevent Collin from escaping the forest.
    • Mister Shrub - a surprisingly weak talking and walking shrub who is sent by Pineback to prevent Collin from getting closer to them.
  • The Headmaster - the crazy and hacked head of the Fitness Factory who went mad, playing multiple sports at the same time.
    • Homerunner - one of the Headmaster's henchmen, whose attacks are based on baseball, attacking alongside Checkmate.
    • Checkmate - one of the Headmaster's henchmen, and an android who can transform into creatures based on chess pieces.
  • Rufftron - an alien cyborg bulldog who is reluctantly working for Bryte in exchange for a debt she owes him, taking over the Interplanetary Candy Factory.

    • The Flying Dutchman - Necrobeard's ship which is used to prevent Collin from reaching Gustavo in order to save him from Necrobeard as it has a spirit of its own.
  • Boss Iggy - a gigantic mobster iguana who has taken over the Swamptime Cruise from Ginny as he is loyal to Bryte, willing to do this full-scale takeover for her.
    • Mean Al - a rude alligator man who is Boss Iggy's second in command as he wields a giant machine gun and uses it to gun down anything in his path.
  • Meloda - an egotistical pop star who works for Bryte as she uses music as a weapon, able to summon notes to attack as she wants to take control of the Rhythm Festival just for her.

  • Black-Eyed Chuck - a hammy western outlaw who is hired to run the Wild Wild Train by Bryte as he rides a massive steam powered mech to stop Collin in his tracks.
    • TNT Tammy - Black Eyed Chuck's insane accomplice who loves explosives as she is sent to prevent Collin from getting even further.
  • The Shrieker- a giant and terrifying bat-like monster who works for Bryte as he keeps control of the caverns and can release a supersonic scream.

  • Ken and Kate (voiced by TBD and TBD since TBD, respectively) - two insane siblings who have been obsessed with wanting to have super speed just like Collin, and have been attempting to track him down and steal his superspeed powers for themselves, forming an alliance with Bryte to gain powers, eventually finding the crystal that gave Collin speed, becoming as fast as him.
  • The Speed Machine - a hammy android racer who is loyal to Ken and Kate's growing empire as he drives a massive monster truck and wants to destroy Collin.
    • Diecycle - an android motorcycle who works for the Speed Machine as he is sent to distract Collin to make sure that Ken and Kate win.
  • Red Shark - a vicious shark mercenary and pirate captain wearing a weaponized undersea uniform as he is sent to take over the Deep Shore Palace by Ken and Kate.
    • Squidbait - Red Shark's loyal second-in-command who is a squid as he carries a dozen swords and loves to swing them around for his captain.
  • Empress Arachna - a spider-like humanoid who rules over the Insectoid Colosseum as she wants to force everyone to fight in gladiatorial combat for her amusement.
    • Goliath - a giant horned beetle who is the Insectoid Colosseum's prized champion as he is extremely loyal to his Empress and wants to fight for her.
  • Bull Kong - a horned gorilla who is took over the Treetop Rave by enslaving the party goers as he wants an eternal party, enjoying drinking banana juice.
    • The Gibbon - a crazy and wacky gibbon who is Bull Kong's second-in-command as he throws explosive coconuts and wants to destroy Collin.
  • Grandmaster Mojo Dojo - a powerful ninja demon warlord who is the leader of a clan of demon ninjas, as he terrorizes the Ninja Fortress, hating humans.
    • Mirage Dodge - a lean ninja demon who works under Mojo Dojo as he is capable of creating shadowy clones of himself.
  • Gambit King - a crazy and insane cyborg who was made by Ken and Kate to take over the Mega Arcade as he wants to fully rule over it, wanting to finally get rid of Pixel.
    • Mr. Arcade - a talking arcade machine who works for Gambit King as he prefers to not fight and insteads summons pixilized enemies for Collin to fight.
  • Scareclown - a demonic fear-feeding clown who rules over Nightmare Land as he just wants to cause chaos and fear.
    • Creep Sheep - a demonic sheep who is Scareclown's assistant as he is loyal to Scareclown to a tea.
  • The Dustinator - a gigantic and hammy Dust Bunny who wants to wipe the world of the Neat Freaks, being hired by Ken and Kate to keep the war going on.
    • Mud Tank - a giant automated tank ran by the Dustinator that can fire out hazardous mud at Collin.
  • Atom Fist - an android crime lord with a nuclear reactor as his power source as he took control of the Toxin Factory and uses it to power himself up
    • Wastebucket - a giant cybernetic bucket carrying toxic waste who works under Atom Fist, helping run the factory and use its toxins as a weapon.
  • Captain Blizzard - a sentient snowman and pirate captain who commands a flying pirate ship which brings up an ice storm wherever he goes, having enslaved the Yetis of Frostbite Mountain.
    • Blurry - a loyal, yet cruel arctic wolf who is Captain Blizzard's first mate as he has an ability to summon icicles and throw them at Collin.

  • Alakazamus (voiced by TBD) - a goofy and over-the-top wizard who runs a circus known as the Circus of Magic as he wants to gather six gems to create a weapon that will make him fully immortal, fighting Tommy and his mysterious spectral help.
  • The Party Queen (voiced by TBD) - a silly and danger loving clown and member of the Circus of Magic who is "the Clown Princess of Chaos", as she helps Alakazamus in his quest for immortality, fighting Tommy and the Player to keep her master's plan uninterrupted, using explosive pies.

  • Birdie - a small, yet aggressive bird-like creature who is one of Bryte's goons, but it is the easiest to defeat by jumping on them but can also be punched too, but can still damage Collin.
    • Clawed Birdie - a tall and clawed Birdie variant who has sharp claws and can deal damage to Collin, can only be defeated by punches due to his tall size.
  • Troodons - small dinosaurs that roam around while often trying to attack Collin as they have a large bite.
  • Rollerdillos - armored armadillo-like creatures that, despite not being associated with Bryte by any means, are hostile to anyone and can attack, as Collin can only attack them when they aren't in a ball.

Common gameplay[]

The first three games are 2D platformers where you race as Collin who can run fast and use both a grappling hook and punches in combat. The grappling hook can also be used to grapple up to certain areas. Games since Bryte's Revenge has taken more of an open world collectathon style as you do missions for several friendly characters to collect collectibles that are used to access other areas.
