Metal Slug is a series of video games created by SNK. As the whole, the franchise is a run-n'-gun title with platforming elements. Originally, the titles were first released on the Neo-Geo arcade machines and game consoles also created by SNK (much credit can go to Nazca Corporation, too), as well. Overtime, the games have been ported to several other consoles and handhelds; including the Sega Saturn, PlayStation, PlayStation 2, Game Boy Advance, Xbox, PlayStation Portable, Xbox 360, and Nintendo DS
Trivia[]
- SNK Playmore retained all intellectual rights to the franchise around 2002 or 2003; meaning that Trevor Spacey and Nadia Cassel wouldn't appear in future subsequent titles after Metal Slug 4, due to being owned by the Korean-based company, Mega Enterprise.
- The first Metal Slug installment was released in 1996.
- The 2006 release of the panned Metal Slug 3D (sometimes just called "Metal Slug", sharing its name with the classic) was a Japanese-only release, which is ironic considering that the menus and voice acting are in English; however, Japanese subtitles and dialogue are also available
