The United Nations (UN), also known as the United Nations Organization, is an intergovernmental organization on Earth that mainly seeks to keep world peace, order, and security, developing friendly relations among nations and countries, achieving international cooperation, stopping future wars, and serving as a place for coordinating the actions of 193 member states as well as the two observer states. In the aftermath of World War II, the UN was founded as the successor to the League of Nations on October 24, 1945. Among the other world organizations, it is widely recognized as the largest international organization in the world by far. The headquarters of this organization is in New York City, where it is considered the international territory with certain privileges extraterritorial to the United States, the home country of the American Defense Alliance, and the UN has other offices in Geneva, Nairobi, Vienna, and The Hague, where the International Court of Justice is headquartered at the Peace Palace.

In the Artistic Forces universe, the United Nations serves as both the belligerent and the peacekeeping alliance throughout every timeline of World War III, fighting against the Empire of Nations commonly known as the Totalitarian Empire, whose sought to destroy and replace the UN and bring back the global militarism on a global scale as an authoritarian and militaristic geopolitical superpower that achieves a new world order along with their extraterrestrial ally known as the Interdimensional Empire, paramilitary and terrorist organizations, and other mysterious threats, most specifically the Kaijin Gundan and the Alien Empire. Before the events of the Futuristic War, the United Nations is also the founding organization of the world peacekeeping alliance known as the Global Integrity Association (GIA).
