Strategy[]
The Freaks are a chaotic, ragtag, unconventional consortium of puppet-stitched, cartoon-like beings who have abandoned the traditional values of other cartoony and artistic factions. They have united various outcasts, thieves, tricksters, militias, survivalists, scavengers, and renegades under a single banner, as well as movements opposing imperialism. Based in the warlord-controlled State of Freakland, they operate as a vast, decentralized paramilitary and militia force spread across Centrica in Animatopia. Their ultimate goal is to oppose imperialism, create free territories, manipulate political and cultural events, and fight against anything they deem unworthy.
The Freaks are a chaotic force of disorder, thriving on anarchy, deception, and unconventional warfare to achieve their ultimate vision of freedom.
Tactics[]
The Freaks prioritize unconventional, dirty, and deceptive warfare, using:
- Guerrilla-style tactics: hit-and-run attacks, high mobility, and irregular warfare.
- Deception & trickery: psychological warfare, sabotage, and misinformation.
- Attrition warfare: wearing down enemies through prolonged conflict.
- Biological & incendiary weapons: toxic attacks, fire-based weaponry, and poisons.
- Thievery & scavenging: looting enemies and repurposing stolen tech.
- Foxhole & underground warfare: hiding and striking when least expected.
- Radiological warfare: weaponized radiations in unconventional ways.
- Nuclear weapons: weapons of mass destruction that are used for a devastative nuclear fallout.
They thrive on underhanded strategies, leveraging a vast wealth network and decentralized leadership to disrupt their enemies.
Technological level[]
The Freaks rely on a renegade mix of military assets, including:
- Imported Russian, Soviet, American, Chinese, and European weapons
- Unconventional and improvised weaponry
- Biological & chemical warfare (poisons, diseases, and toxic agents)
- Incendiary firepower (fire-based weapons and explosives)
- Weaponized subterfuge (traps, ambushes, and sabotage)
- Radiological warfare (weaponized radiations)
- Nuclear weapons (weaponized nukes)
Rather than focusing on cutting-edge technology, they scavenge, steal, and repurpose whatever they can find, turning enemy weapons against them in unexpected ways.

As a paramilitary force, the military ranks of this faction are different to those of the regular armed forces.

Factional theme[]
The Freaks faction in Artistic Forces would have a chaotic, gritty, and unhinged musical theme, reflecting their ragtag, anarchic, and scavenger-like nature. Their soundtrack would likely blend punk rock, industrial, junkyard percussion, twisted carnival music, and dark folk elements to create an unpredictable and menacing soundscape.
Musical Influences & Style[]
- Industrial Rock/Metal – Heavy use of distorted guitars, scrap-metal percussion, and deep, grinding basslines to reflect their scavenger origins.
- Similar to: Nine Inch Nails, Rob Zombie, KMFDM, Rammstein (rawer tracks)
- Punk Rock & Anarchist Folk – Fast-paced, rebellious, and aggressive rhythms to emphasize their anti-imperialist and renegade themes.
- Similar to: The Clash, Dead Kennedys, Motorhead (punk-metal fusion), Gogol Bordello (for a gypsy-punk twist)
- Junkyard Percussion & Noise Elements – A mix of scrap metal banging, broken machinery sounds, and distorted feedback, evoking their reliance on improvised weaponry.
- Similar to: Mad Max: Fury Road OST, Junkie XL, Stomp (junk percussion performances)
- Twisted Circus & Dark Cabaret Music – Unsettling, eerie, and carnivalesque melodies mixed with offbeat accordion, honky-tonk piano, and warbled brass, fitting their bizarre and puppet-stitched aesthetic.
- Similar to: Danny Elfman (Beetlejuice, The Nightmare Before Christmas), Tom Waits, Diablo Swing Orchestra, Emir Kusturica & The No Smoking Orchestra
- Folk & Blues Influence – Some tracks could incorporate gritty, outlaw-style folk, blues, or spaghetti western elements, reflecting their nomadic, survivalist lifestyle.
- Similar to: Johnny Cash, Ennio Morricone (with a punk twist), Blues Saraceno (Apocalyptic Blues Sound)
How It Would Sound in the Game[]
- Battle Themes: Fast-paced punk-industrial music with metal clanks, heavy drums, and distorted, screeching guitars.
- Stealth/Guerrilla Tracks: Creepy, twisted carnival-style music or eerie junkyard ambience with unsettling percussion.
- Faction Theme: A mix of grimy outlaw folk, junk percussion, and punk rock with occasional twisted brass or circus elements, capturing their chaotic but cunning identity.
Example Soundtracks for Inspiration[]
- Command & Conquer: Generals – GLA Theme (Heavy Industrial/Tribal Drums)
- Mad Max: Fury Road OST – War Boys Chase (Scrap Metal Percussion, Savage Energy)
- Fallout New Vegas – Caesar’s Legion Theme (Raw, Tribal-Punk Fusion)
- Brütal Legend OST – Junkyard Apocalypse (Metal & Punk Mix)

Trivia[]
- The Freaks are one of the few factions with many characters and units that are voiced by Axl Jet Baños, the creator, executive producer, and director of Artistic Forces, the other ones are the Stick Figuroids, Hobbritons, and the Dongwuren Dynasty. This is a prime example of the Descended Creator trope in which a crewmember, executive or even the creator for a medium makes an appearance in a part that would ordinarily be cast as an actor to portray a role of a character or a narrator despite being a staff member.
