Etymology[]
The name Azuloid is a combination of two words: Azul, a Spanish and Portuguese term for color blue as well as it is implied for the skin color of this humanoid race, and the suffix -oid is for the resemblance of anything in its appearance.

- As a faction, the Azuloids are a race of blue-skinned humanoids, actually inspired by the Na'vi and the Avatar from the Avatar series, the Tau Empire from Warhammer 40k, Terran from the StarCraft series, Cuotl from Rise of Nations: Rise of Legends, and the mix between the USA, GLA, and China from Command & Conquer: Generals, including the the blend of Latin American, Israeli and South African armed forces.
- Their skin color is also influenced by the titular people from The Smurfs series.
- The cultural and architectural depiction of the Azuloids is based off the Amerindian culture, mixed with some Mayan, Aztec, Inca, Olmec, African, and European cultural aspects as additional sources.
