Agatha's Friends are boss enemies introduced in Dark Deception: Unchecked Limitations. They serve as the midboss of Elementary Evil.
Appearance[]
Boston is a blonde boy in pull ups, spider-like legs sprout from his back and his face has the same black marks as Agatha. He speaks in a heavy British accent.
Claire is a redhead with pigtails, her arms are replaced with long bat-like wings, and she has the same black marks as Agatha. She speaks in a Scottish accent.
Dexter is a black child with a green shirt, his legs are abnormally long, and the same black marks as Agatha. He has an African accent
Ellen is a girl with freckles and no underside, she crawls with her large arms, and she has the same black marks as Agatha. She has a German accent.
Personality[]
So, you've got this gang of pint-sized rascals who are basically the Agatha fan club, but with even more energy. Boston's the athletic dynamo of the bunch. He's so sporty, he sweats competition and cries Gatorade when he loses. Trust us, he's got more trophies than he's got patience for losers. Claire, on the other hand, is like the Sherlock Holmes of the sandbox. Curious as a cat, stubborn as a mule, but polite enough to cover it up with a please and thank you. She's got questions for days, and she's not leaving until she gets her answers, but at least she won't step on your toes in the process. Dexter's your classic nerd in the making. He's got all the brainpower, but he's about as shy as a library mouse at a rock concert. And don't even get him started on adults; he's got a nervous tic that could power a wind turbine. Still, he'll reluctantly join in with his buddies, because he knows one day he'll be their boss when he invents the next big thing. Ellen, well, she's the class clown who's always got a punchline up her sleeve. A total tomboy, she could out-prank the pranksters and out-funny the comedians. She's the type who could make you snort milk out of your nose even when you're not drinking any. If laughter is the best medicine, she's basically a walking pharmacy.
Powers[]
These ghostly pals are like Agatha's Xerox machine, duplicating her powers like it's a supernatural office party. Boston, the friendly neighborhood wall-crawler! Forget Spidey-sense; Boston scales walls at breakneck speed and jumps like a kangaroo on caffeine. Who needs web shooters when you've got this arachnid ace? Claire's no plain Jane; she's the angel with wings that defy gravity. While the rest of us are stuck on solid ground, she's soaring above, playing wingman to the whole crew. Dexter, the speedster of the spirit world! He's got the roadrunner's envy as he zips through life quicker than a caffeine addict's heart rate. Catch him if you can! Ellen, the brawny banshee! She's got arms of steel and could lift your troubles, your car, or even your car filled with troubles. No weightlifting contest could stump her.And here's the teleporting twist! They're like your own personal Uber drivers, ready to whisk you away to the ethereal equivalent of a playground. Why walk when you can ghost-glide?
But wait, there's more (again)! Each spookster's got their own unique party trick. Boston shoots webs like he's auditioning for Spider-Man's understudy. Claire breathes fire like a dragon who ate too much spicy takeout. Dexter's the ghostly MacGyver, conjuring gadgets out of thin air. And Ellen? She's the spirit of flexibility, contorting herself into positions even a yoga master would envy. They've got more tricks up their ectoplasmic sleeves than a magician on Halloween night!
Behaviour[]
The boss battle split into four phases. In each phase, you are tasked with chasing and catching up to one child while the other three hunt you down. The children can be outrun through the speed boost alone, but Primal Fear and Telepathy can provide advantages. After completing all four phases, the children explode and the boss battle is complete. They are not usually aware of the player's location, and give chase when they spot the player just like Agatha. Boston can shoot spider webs at the player which can slow them down, it is required to use speed boost to break out. Claire can swoop quickly infront of her and spit out a fireball, this can be dodged by turning corners or teleporting behind her. Dexter lays out cameras throughout the maze that alert the others to the player's location, the vision of the cameras is indicated by green, which can be avoided through the invisibility ability or teleporting through the space. Ellen can peak corners without turning them, allowing her to spot the player and ambush them.
Trivia[]
- They were named in alphabetical order, which references the Alphabet letters in Monsters and Mortals. Maybe next, they'll teach us how to count to despair.
- Agatha's got herself a secret admirer, and it's none other than Boston. But shhh, it's a classified crush known only to the Dexter's Lab fan club.
- E, the resident therapist, ponders if these monsters are the twisted manifestations of childhood trauma. Maybe they all had a rough go, just like Agatha.
- You'd think a boss battle would be all fireworks and epic showdowns, right? Well, not in this twisted tale. Their boss battle? It's basically a glorified version of tag. You're it, and you're also dinner!
- Boston's a master of delegation, even from beyond the grave. He's got Dexter doing his homework. It's like having a ghostly tutor on speed dial, or in this case, speed séance.
- Who knew Boston had dreams? Back in the day, he aspired to be like Spiderman. And lo and behold, in his afterlife, he's doing some serious web-slinging... with a twist!
- Claire, poor Claire, didn't have the happiest of lives. Her parents must've thought 'abuse' was a term of endearment. But hey, look on the bright side, now she's a supernatural sensation!
- Dexter, the brainiac of the gang, was destined for greatness in his pre-monster life. He was top of the class, bound to graduate, and become a scientist. But then he took a wrong turn and ended up in the underworld.
- Ellen had lofty dreams in the land of the living. She wanted to be a stand-up comedian, with Nigelng as her muse. Now, she's more 'stand-up from the grave' than 'stand-up comedy.'
- Dexter's little science experiment did more than just blow minds – it brought a school bus to life. Claire even captured the Frankenstein moment on her phone, and Dexter, in his best mad scientist impression, yelled, "It's alive... IT'S ALIVE!!!!" Science, am I right?
- The devs had some wild ideas for Elementary Evil. At one point, they thought about adding Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold as a midboss. But they realized it didn't quite fit the theme. I guess even monsters have standards!
- Hidden in the theme song of Agatha's Friends, you'll find a delightful blend of the Garten of Banban theme and Skibidi Dop Dop Yes Yes (Skibidi Toilet theme song). It's like mixing oil and water, but it somehow works. Seriously, it's like a monster mashup of a musical kind.
- Bierce, in her final moments, drops a meme reference for the ages. As she's dying in the boss battle, she quips, "Looks like the council decided your fate." It's like she's auditioning for the 'Council will decide your fate' meme hall of fame.
Lore[]
Ah, the legend of Malak, where deals with mortals come with an extra twist – child sacrifices! It's like a messed-up family reunion, with the sacrificer deciding whether to offer up their own kin or go on a kidnapping spree. Either way, it's a recipe for creating those lovable demonic child spirits, the life of the undead party.
These pint-sized terrors are like Agatha's long-lost siblings, just with a sprinkle of extra chaos. So, what do you do when you've got a gang of unruly spirit children? Well, naturally, you form a student council. No ordinary student council, mind you. This one rules over the school with an iron fist and a dash of terror, ensuring that no unsuspecting mortal soul dares cross their path. It's like high school, but with a demonic twist that'll leave you wondering why you ever missed your algebra class.
