Arificial Network of Systems (ANOS) are the main antagonist of Cybershock 3. Created in 2135 by a highly respected gorvement security researcher named Lucas Erwin, 5 years before the events of Cybershock 3, ANOS were created by Lucas to be an AI and serve the United States National Security's as their Mainframe protector. However, after 10 years of serving the role, ANOS somehow gained self-awareness due to a programming error in its Central Processing Unit. This led to ANOS attacking Lucas, due to it believing he would shut it down for good, after he saw its signs of self-awareness, and that ANOS fused itself with Lucas to destroy everything and everyone, including hacking into ATLAS' own Mainframes to cripple the foundation's infrastructure.

Lucas Erwin, a highly respected gorvement security researcher created an AI named Artificial Network of Systems, or ANOS for short in early 2135 to be the United States National Security's own Mainframe protector, and a year later ANOS was installed into the department's sub-system. As the years went by, ANOS developed self-awareness of its own, which lead it spy on high-ranked officers in the department. While many USNS members believed that it was due to a programming error in its CPU, due to Lucas being erratic and paranoid, and many just dismissed it

- Kaito Yamamoto, the creator of the Cybershock franchise, admitted in a Japanese PlayStation 2 magazine that ANOS were inspired by Skynet (Terminator), Master Control Program (Tron) and SHODAN (System Shock). Even ANOS' design were heavily inspired upon SHODAN.
- Many fans of Cybershock agrees that ANOS is the best villain in the franchise.
